I'm leaving fortwo days (3 hours of train, a night with nothing good on tv and possibly two to ten hours to wait at the train station and 3 other hours of train or whatever I'm returning home in) so I'm really in need of some good reading material.
What i'm looking for :

hi, I seem to have lost a fic that I want to read again.
it was an AU about the first avengers movie.
Hydra sends the Winter Soldier after Loki, but loki brings back his mind only to control him with the scepter. I cannot remember where I found it only that it was WIP and was only a few chapters long. please Help me find it! it will drive me nuts if I don't .
it might have been an avengers kink, or cap kink I don't know.
more info:I remember that when loki tried to take control of his mind via the scepter it didn't work the first time. he said "you have no heart," then touched the scepter to Bucky's head and gave him his memories back. then he controlled him.

Okay so I seem to have lost the name of a fic that I read some time back. it was a two part series and the first one had to do with Bucky and the Winter Soldier being two separate personalities. anyway bucky finds out that steve is gone and asks the winter soldier to help him find steve. the soldier doesn't like his handlers and does so going to shield to get part of the info they needed and leaving them a measage about hydra while they're at it. bucky find's steve and he wakes up, and together they go off on a hydra killing spree before shield finds them and hires them.
the second one is the averngers with bucky there too.
please help me find it
i will swear it is on AO3. It is a series and they were both fairly long but not too long.

I keep thinking about a specific scene from a fic, but I can't remember what fic it comes from.

The scene I'm remembering has General Ross from the Hulk movies bringing all of his men to Avengers Tower for Bruce. Rhodey confronts him in the War Machine/Iron Patriot armor and Pepper confronts him with amazing red tape I think.

I can't even remember what pairing the fic had if any.

Hey!! So recently I've read some darcy&bucky fics and i am deciding that that is my new fav. So specifically I am looking for some fics where Darcy is the one who comes across Bucky while he is still trying to get his head on straight and is ultimately the one who gets to bring him in to the avengers. I've read "The Extraordinary Friendship of Darcy Lewis and James Buchanan Barnes" by cosmicocean, the one where she finds him in a diner eating pancakes and then they have to run from hydra, and the 'Run verse pieces. Anything else that you guys would suggest?? I'm fine with any pairing really, darcy and bucky could be together or they could just be friends or bucky could be with someone else or darcy could be with someone else, whatever you find where Darcy is the one that brings bucky in is great!

and if you have any darcy&bucky fics that you think are just generally fantastic feel free to recommend those as well, always on the lookout for some great new reads!!!

Hi!

I'm relatively new to LJ, but wondering if anyone can help me out. Looking for a fic I read a while back about how no one else can pilot the Iron Man armor like Tony, because his mind doesn't work like anyone else's. His HUD displays twice as much information as Rhodey keeps displayed with War Machine, and he can absorb and keep track of it all, where anyone else would be baffled. I think I remember either Rhodey or Pepper explaining this to someone else, maybe another member of the Avengers? Anyway, hopefully someone knows where it might be found!

I'm pretty new to the fandom and did a search on the rec page here but didn't find anything. I hope this is ok since Bucky isn't an avenger in the CA/WS movie world. I'm actually looking for some WS tortured! current Bucky fanfics..Graphic description doesn't bother me. Kindof like if WS recovered Bucky being kidnapped and was tortured for information/hydra/or sacrificing for teammates while the other avengers watch helplessly or perhaps they recovered recordings of the chair, ect. I usually see fics where the avengers see the tortured aftermath of Bucky, but I want to read fics that the avengers actually see Bucky being tortured instead of just hearing about it.I like gen or stucky. Hi ya'll. So, a couple of weeks ago, my laptop went flying off my coffee table via Giant Malamute airlines and I was not able to get anything off my hard drive. So, all my fics I had saved on there are all gone. I have re-found a fair number of them but there are some that I remember about that I'm still missing. I don't remember everything about the fics, but here are the few things I do remember.

Specific fics:
1) The US government (or the World Security Council) wants either Clint or Bruce (could possibly be someone else or the whole team) to pay for something and sets out to arrest them. I think the team finds out while they're away on a mission in some other part of the world. The team decides to start helping and improving their public image in other countries where they cannot be deported back until the government decides to drop all charges against the person.

2) After a drunken bar fight in a back alley, Clint finds a stray cat who pretends to be injured. He brings the cat back to the tower. He starts out being drunk most of the time and feeling "sorry" for himself but throughout the story, he gets better because he has to take care of this cat. I don't think the cat ever gets a name. There is a sequel where Clint loses his sight(?) for a little while.

3) Through some magical something or other, Clint goes back in time and is able to basically redo all the events of the movie, making them "end" in a better way. He does tell Coulson, Fury and Natasha that he's from the future and they eventually believe him. I believe the beginning of the fic is him going back to seconds before Loki touches him with the spear and Clint throws up a mental shield that someone has been teaching him for if it ever happens again. Clint thinks this is a dream at first because he's been having this dream over and over again. This story is for sure a Clint/Coulson fic.

Now, these are only the ones I remember about/reminded about because of other stories that have similar scenes. There are probably a ton more that I'm missing. So, I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations. No mpreg and VERY-little-to-no Loki. I like Clint/Coulson, Steve/Tony, Steve/Bucky, OT6, gen or canon pairings. Other than that, anything goes. And I'd prefer them on fanfiction.net or AO3 because the program I use (Calibre) is only able to get fics off of those sites. Thanks in advance.

I am driving myself crazy trying to find a specific Bucky fic, I think it was on AO3. It was a typic fic where Bucky end up at the avengers tower to heal. I think when he gets there he has a really bad infection in his arm because JARVIS notices he is running a really high fever. There is a great scene between him and Bruce where Bruce is very carefully trying to get him to let him help. Bucky let's him even though he expects the whole time that he's going to end up memory wiped/frozen again.

A) Fics wherein someone punches Howard. I'm partial to Steve but anyone would be good. It can be any verse, any point in time, I just want to see Howard get his. Steve/Tony preferred but not necessary.

B) Fics wherein someone gives 616!Steve a good talking to either during or post Civil War. I like it when it's alternates but anyone is good as long as they ream Steve (and possibly other Avengers) out. Steve/Tony please. Fics of this theme revolving around current events would also work.

Okay, I lost a fic. I thought I bookmarked it, but when I went back to my link, It wasn't the right fic. What I remember is this:

1. It was pretty big. Can't remember if there were a lot of chapters, or if they were just long. And it was unfinished last I saw.

2. Tony, Clint (and Barney), and Phil had all at a point where they were children, been dosed with the super soldier serum, but it never does the same thing to each person. Later Betty Ross is also dosed by her father.

3. Steve collapses at some point because he isn't eating enough.

4. There is a wedding for Bruce and betty on the Hellicarier.

5. Tony secretly has an actual medical degree, and an alterego to go along with it.

That's all I got folks. Can anyone help? I don't recall pairings, sorry.

Hi, I only remember one scene fairly clearly from this fic: Coulson lives (obviously) and wakes up in a hospital after the Battle of New York. He realizes pretty early on that he's not being told the truth about what's going on in the outside world, and specifically that he's being lied to about how long it's been since the battle (I think he's told it's 3 weeks when it's actually 6 or something like that). Anyway, the scene I remember is that a really green agent who's just started with SHIELD is acting as a janitor or orderly or something, and he also realizes something's wrong, so he brings Coulson a cell phone in secret so he can contact the Avengers and also brings him clothes (sweatpants?) so he can escape. I also remember that he plans to quit after he helps Coulson get out, since he doesn't want to be part of an organization that lies like this. Finally, I remember that later in the fic, Coulson realizes that it was a good thing he got out before the surgery that he was supposed to get soon, because it was apparently Fury's plan to brainwipe him in that surgery and send him off to be (presumably) his AoS self.

The fic may be Clint/Phil slash +/- being secretly married, since I read a lot of that pairing, but I'm not sure.

Hello!

Looking for a Loki/Thor fic that I remember two really vivid scenes from. The first is the Chitauri (I think) are attacking and Loki has made up with Thor and Loki is helping Earth so Loki transports soldiers to either the moon or mars and disguises the moon/mars as the earth and blows it up. This makes the chitauri (I think) think that the planet is destroyed.

In the fic Tony has passes? as rewards that let him do stuff. He is in a relationship with Pepper, then Bruce and Steve. He has sex with Loki (after Loki does the above spell) and his passes are taken away. Thor is really annoyed with Tony for having sex with Loki.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm looking for a fic where Tony is abused by his boyfriend, whose name I don't remember. I think it started with an M but I'm not sure.

I remember that when he tried to subtly tell the rest of the Avengers about it, he said "Sometimes he gets physical." The Avengers laughed and said they knew, but they thought he was talking about sex, not physical abuse. Tony figured that meant that they knew what The Boyfriend was doing and approved of it, so he eventually thought that he deserved it and that The Boyfriend really was trying to help him.

Another thing I remember is that The Boyfriend told Tony that Rhodey only liked him for the War Machine suit and that he actually had to pay Pepper to spend time with him.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The specific fic I'm looking for was set almost immediately post-IM2, and dealt with Rhodey apologizing to Tony for not trusting him (possibly because Jarvis asked him to apologize?); Tony then flew off in his Starkjet, with Jarvis saying comforting things in his ear until he fell asleep. He was shivering, I think, and there was mention of a blanket and how very unwell Tony had been feeling. Dead sure it was on Ao3, but I can't for the life of me find it. :( Hoping someone here can help, pretty please! :) [Edit: Found by ravensrookery, thank you!]

Okay, general fic searches (I prefer gen or Tony/Pepper, but other pairings are not a deal-breaker):

1. IM2-related hurt/comfort. Set pre-, during or post-movie, anything. Even anything where someone realizes how ill Tony's feeling or how tired he is, etc. will do. Just, acknowedgement by the other characters of the shit Tony's recently been through. (in other words, fixit fic for the total lack of comfort in the film)

2. Fics where Tony is hugged, like really close, purposeful, melt-inducing hugs (not the momentary kind).

3. Fics dealing with the fact that Tony is very much an introvert, even though he fakes extroversion well.

4. Fics involving public goodwill for Tony. Like random people asking if he's okay, telling him the impact he's made on their lives, coming forward to help him if he's hurt during battle, things like that.

I havent read a fic like this before so I dont know if there are any out there but I would like to find something along the lines of:

For some reason the avengers are on Asgard whether for diplomatic reasons or for some sort of battle. Something sends them back in time and it will take at least a few days to send them home. Thor feels sort of nostalgic or something and takes the avengers with him to see young Loki before he knew he was a Frost Giant. The avengers take it upon themselves to help Loki when hes a kid so that he might not make the same mistakes in the future
Its ok if Loki is with them but I prefer if hes not

It doesnt have to be that exact or anything because im not looking for a certain fic but story recs along those lines or with similar plots would be great

I'm looking for some recs. Most of my reading so far has been on Ao3 so it would be nice to get some fics that aren't on there as well. I prefer completed fics or regularly updated WIPs. Both plot based and PWP are fine. I've tended to read mostly MCU and 616 but feel free to rec other verses. I prefer stories that are more closely related to canon (i.e. they are still avengers) than full out AUs such as normal/high school/college settings. No warnings necessary.

I love Tony-centric fics but I also enjoy Loki-centric and Bucky-centric fics.

Pairings I read most often are FrostIron, Stony, Bucky/Steve, and polyamory (i.e. OT3's, OT6's, OT7's, OT8's, etc. as long as they include either Steve/Tony or Loki/Tony as part of the pairing). I will occasionally read Tony-centric fics that are Tony/Other where other is Pepper, Clint, Coulson, Bruce, etc. if the fic is very well written.

I also have developed an interest in Bucky/Tony, as well as, Bucky/Steve/Tony. I don't mind if the background pairings are different as long main pairing is one of my preferred pairings. Gen is also fine.

I really like H/C stories centered around my favorite characters. I prefer fics with a hopeful or happy ending but lots of hurt and angst in the beginning/middle is more than fine with me.

I read Resurection-verse by Elespethdixion and Seanchai and This time tomorrow (where were we?) by dorcas_gustine and am now craving Civil War fics preferably fix-its. I'd love it if someone could rec me some that don't place all the blame on one side or the other (i.e. where there is some acknowledgement that both sides could have done things differently).

Any fics relating to Secret Invasion/Skrulls, Brain-delete, time travel/time loops, fix-it fics, daemons, mutant, sparring, secret powers/abilities, my favorite characters being BAMF, and/or needing a hug.

Are there any fics where Tony ends up in the past and ends up joining up with and becoming friends with the Steve, Bucky, and the rest of the Howling Commandos like the glimpses we get in Man Out of Time by samptra? Either gen or slash.

Turns out, he was misplaced some how, and everyone's thought he was dead, but he didn't know. Anyone? Payment in cookies is available.

Hey! :) I'm looking for fics which deal with the aftermath of IM2 for Tony. Either physically, eg. him crashing/sleeping for days/shivering/not able to keep anything down because he's too used to the damn chlorophyll/whatever (because I sure as hell am not buying that ~instantaneous recovery~ jazz, and he has to be exhausted at the very least from all those months of physical torment), or emotionally, eg. explaining to Pepper what exactly he was going to make her an omelette and tell her, Rhodey chewing him out for not telling him he was dying, you know...things like that. Or both.
Or just any hurt/comforty Tony-centric IM2 related fic.

Fluff is loved. Angst is also loved, but please, please, something with Tony getting the comfort he deserves after the hell he went through during the film. Please and thank you. ♥

Haven't been on here in a while, but I'm trying to find a certain story and I'm drawing a blank. Hopefully someone will be able to help.

I'm looking for a specific Tony/Steve story. I think they are married but it may just be a committed relationship. Tony is in his workshop when he sees a news report of Steve with an unknown woman on his arm (there may have been kissing) at a party he and Tony were supposed to be at. Tony is devastated and locks himself in the workshop. Only, when Steve shows up he is completely confused since he was at SHIELD all day training and helping with the new recruits. It couldn't have been him, yet there is the photo evidence. I believe Pepper slaps Steve and Clint punches him the next morning? They are trying to figure out what is going on when Thor drags Loki the shapeshifter into the kitchen. Steve sees red and the story ends up with a reconciliation between Tony and Steve. I remember a line where Steve tells Tony that is Steve ever does cheat, Tony is to dump his ass and Steve is proud of Tony for protecting himself by hiding from Steve.

Does anyone know this story? I am almost positive it is from AO3 and that is is a recent story, but it may be older since I've been digging around on there recently. Help! I really want to re-read this, since I've been on a Steve-cheats-on-Tony kick today and I need a happy fluffy angst story to ameliorate some of the bitterness I've been reading and I want a story where Tony has a healthy reaction to Steve's infidelity, rather than immediately forgiving him.

First time poster here!

I've been reading a lot of fics about Loki, about his POV during the events of Thor and afterwards, and have become hopelessly smitten with the scamp that he is. ;) What I'd really like to read, and have had some trouble finding, are fics where Loki is the good one, the abused one, the misunderstood one, and Thor is the villian of the piece, either through ignorance (not realizing that Loki's been abused all these years, mentally, emotionally, physically, etc) or through sheer malevolence. Thor can be as bad or as indifferent as you like; hell, I'll even take good Thor; what I want to see is where someone else clues Thor into what his brother has been going through all this time. I'd like to see where the Avengers welcome Loki in with open arms, and maybe give Thor the cold shoulder. Any pairing, or gen, doesn't matter. Just want to read real angst-fests where other people realize that Loki isn't such a bad guy, after everything he's been through, and where Thor isn't so perfect and wonderful as he's been led to believe.

I hope this makes sense to someone!!! LOL. Thanks in advance, guys!

I've lost a fic and can't re-locate it. It's a "Coulson didn't die" fic, and when the Avengers find out, they all march down to wherever SHIELD has him, and Clint climbs straight onto the bed and kisses him, which is everybody's first clue about *that* relationship. Except maybe Natasha.

I keep thinking I remember other scenes, but they turn out to be from other fics that don't have that particular reunion scene in them.

Actually, I like ANY fic where the Avengers discover on their own that Phil's still alive, without Phil or Fury telling them voluntarily, so if you want to rec others ....

Alright, this one I remember being on either norsekink or avengerkink and it's set in movie canon, probably post-avengers.

The Thor and Loki versions from an AU 'verse (where Loki wasn't neglected and turned out fine) somehow come through a magic portal and meet the Avengers and their own counterparts.
AU Loki knew about his heritage and chose to stay in his jotun form with pride, and he and Thor were best buds and maybe lovers.
In the story, Thor and his AU self went outside to spar while AU Loki has a little heart-to-heart with his counterpart, to which canon Loki ends up crying his heart out.

Hello to all! I'm looking for some help in finding a story. This is what I remember: Steve, Clint and Natasha live together, Steve draws a mural in his room (about them saving NY I think), Natasha has a garden and its all very domestic until they find out that Coulson is alive. They then get some supplies from Tony but don't tell him that Coulson is alive. The last chapter that I managed to read, Tony had found out that they kept Coulson from him and he storms the house with his repulsors and has words with them. Particularly hurtful ones with Steve. Also, I remember that in the story, some chitauri were alive.

Someone please help me I've been looking for hours!

I'm looking for a fic, I know it's on AO3 because I know I commented on it. Of course, now I can't find it.

I think there was a fight in a warehouse? And something was going on in the warehouse with some new weapon and it got Coulson? And then later Clint is going by Coulson's office and that's when he finds out the weapon like, scattered Coulson's consciousness and he ended up in tiny little robots? Or maybe Coulson wasn't there, but that was something that happened off screen, I'm not sure.

Mostly I only remember the nanobot part well, but I know Clint was the other main character in the fic , and it might have been pre-slash Clint/Coulson.

Hi, I am searching for a Clint/Coulson fic that I am quite sure was on AO3. Clint and Coulson were together, and their relationship was one of the cornerstones of Natasha's trust in SHEILD (or something to that effect). However, after the movie with Coulson was dead, Natasha was upset to realise that Clint didn't seemed to be overly upset that Coulson was dead. In fact, he kept sneaking off somewhere and having calls with someone. Natasha thought it was because Clint was ordered to be with Coulson and he was glad that Coulson was dead and he didn't have to pretend anymore and accused him of such. She later trailed him to a hotel room where she found out that Coulson wasn't dead, he was just very badly injured and was recovering (that's where Clint was sneaking off to), and they just hadn't told everyone else yet. Natasha later apologised to Clint. Does anyone know which fic it was please? Thank you.

I'll be moving upstate in a few days and would really appreciate some fic recs to dump on my ereader! I'm looking primarily for stories that are epic in length, 50k words at least. Most of my reading so far has been in the Thor/Loki part of the fandom, but I'm branching out to Loki/Tony a bit as well. Completed fics are preferred, but active WIP are very welcome as well!

I tend towards slash fics, but am open towards het pairings or OT3+ pairings as well. Slow buildup for romance is great, although fics that deal with already established relationships are also good. Lots of drama! High tension! But also some comedy or fluff to balance it out. (Pretty much anything by scifigirl47 for example. XD ) I like fics that can hit a range of tone but still come together coherently.

I am an absolute stupid sucker for the following: jotun!Loki, competant!Thor, Tony being a smartass, Clint living in vents, Pepper being awesome, Avengers family feels, Tony's robots, space pirates (I blame Bend Around the Wind for that), Norse mythology ala Asgard, mythology remixes, putting the "universe" in MCU, exploring Jotenheim, exploring Jotuns, intersex!Jotuns, Loki getting 'redeemed' but still being a snarky little morally gray bastard, arranged marriage, the Avengers going from a team to a family, Natasha keeping her cool while everyone else loses their shit, etc.

Death!fics and heavy angst fics I have to take on a case by case basis. I can get immense satisfaction out of fics that put me through the emotional wringer, but don't enjoy stuff that makes me feel like I'm getting punished for reading it.

tl;dr : Moving, need long fics, so what's your favorite pairing/trope and what would you call its must read epics?

I'm gonn a be bouncing between the bits I remember, but Tony has an actual medical degree/license to practice, He and Clint are best friends at first meeting, Tony's pretty glass bottle of alcohol is actually tea, Coulson is alive, and it turns out that Coulson, Clint and Tony all ended up part of an experiment to recreate the super-soldier serum as kids. Help please?

Hello! I am looking for a specific fic set pre-avengers. I read it some time ago and loved it, and now I can't find it again. I remember the fic details Clint working as an assassin for the government pre-Shield, and it is well understood that if a mission ever goes south nobody will come save him. He eventually joins Shield after he refuses to finish a job that required him to kill a young boy. Sometime after joining Shield a mission does go south and he is completely surprised when Coulson shows up to save him. I remember Coulson, and perhaps a few other Shield members, are surprised and unhappy with the realization that Clint thought nobody would come save him.

I am almost entirely certain it was a slow-build Clint/Coulson fic.

It has really been bugging me that I can't find this one again. If anyone can help me out, I would be grateful!

Can you rec any fics in which the Avengers are really protective of Coulson? Physical or emotional hurt is fine. I'd prefer a focus on the whole team, but any pairings are also fine.

Are there any fics around where Loki is responsible for bringing a certain agent back from the dead? Either by bargaining with Odin, asking a favour from Hel, or any other means?

I'd love to see the implications of this dealt with - is he brought back the same? Do the Avengers/SHIELD trust him?

Would especially like Clint/Coulson but I'll take what I can get!

Looking for a fic which was Clint/Coulson, and after waking up in medical Phil sees Clint and assumes he's still working for Loki and has a panic attack, and this goes on even after he finds out that Clint is himself - he has nightmares and flashbacks.
