I'm looking for a fic where Bucky and Tony wake up during/before the Stark Assassination. I remember Tony, who still had Jarvis and the Armor, moved a tree to stop the Stark's car from reaching the assassination spots. Bucky remembered Tony, and had Tony remove a kill switch or tracker in the Hydra Arm. That's all I remember.
It's not Remix #394 or Icebreaker by Saydria Wolfe on Quantum Bang.

Hi, y'all! Happy Feb. Been away too long and now can't locate stories and plot point that are stuck in my head. Looking for two storylines today I hope someone can help me with. The first is any story where JARVIS is found alive or manages to put himself back together after Ultron. I slightly remember one story where he found in a college or science lab and Tony is contacted by the people working there and he recognizes the anomaly the called him in about as the beginnings of JARVIS.

The other storyline I'm wanting is Howard showing up in the present, for whatever reason. Either Howard alone, or with Maria. Either time travel, an experiment going wrong (or right), alien interference, whatever.

In reading through the AO3 stories by TheSovereigntyofReality where Tony is part of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes' family of cousins, and the comments following someone brought up the idea of Erik Lensherr being related to Tony. Has anyone written such a story where Magneto reveals to Tony Stark/Iron Man that they are cousins (second or third, maybe, or by marriage)? That would be a hell of a storyline.

I've been searching for a specific fanfiction for awhile, I believe it was on AO3, but it's possible it was on fanfiction.net. The fic is about an alternate/parallel Tony Stark showing up, and getting along better with the team than the original Tony, the alternate Tony telling them all about his perfect childhood and how great of a father Howard Stark was, and hearing how great au Tony's life is Steve and the others ask why he talks so low of his father and how he can say anything bad about Howard, basically looking down on him as if he was lying and acting spoiled, before he breaks down and tells them about his not so great childhood and how bad Howard was as a father.

Recently I've been trying to find a fic I read a while ago. I don't remember a lot about it but I really wanted to reread it. From what I remember Tony, bucky and steve are soulmates but tony has a brother who pretends to be him and everyone believes it. When tony tries to tell steve and bucky that he is their soulmate they don't believe him. The truth is revealed when Howard stark dies and in his will names tony as the Inheritor of Stark Industries. Bucky and steve try to get tony to date them but he refuses.

Hello to the whole community,

I can’t find this fic in which the Avengers somehow get to witness all of Tony’s childhood and younger years, during which Howard physically (?) and psychologically abuses Tony. I remember one particular instance in which he hands Tony some lab equipment which ends up badly hurting his hands, and Howard doesn’t even notice. His mother and Jarvis feature too, with Jarvis’ wife slowly becoming ill then later dying. There’s emphasis on Howard being fixated on Cap, too.

I’ve tried to look for it but I can’t seem to find it, does anyone know the title and author?

This has been driving me crazy, so thank you for any info!

Hello! I’m pretty sure I am trying to find a series, not just one fic. This is what I remember:

Always a female Toni Stark adopts Peter as a toddler. Peter calls Toni “Mommy” but if freaks her out. Howard turns up and Steve has a horrible reaction to Toni standing up for herself and Peter to Howard- it feeds into her self doubt. Then Toni has to go to another country and an earthquake collapses a building on her. She is trapped with a little boy who she uses the suit to save. Bucky and Loki both adore Toni and are stargazing with Peter to distract him from worrying about Toni. Rhodey doesn’t like Steve.

Like I said, I’m pretty sure this is actually a series? I think all The current stories are completed.

So I've been trying to find a specific fic for ages now, but with no luck.

It was Howard/Darcy, With Darcy as Tony's Mum Maria.

I remember a specific scene where a group goes to the past to convince Darcy to return to present day, I believe Howard was out or in the Lab, and Darcy was taking care of kid!Tony.

I think the group included Jane, Steve, Dr Selvig and maybe others that I can't remember.

Darcy was explaining that she belonged in that time, despite knowing how she'll die.

I think Edwin Jarvis was there, but I can't remember.

Any clues? I know it's probably not much...

Hi all I read a story where Tony was sick and he finds out that Howard used Steve's DNA to make Tony? Tony is conflicted, and sick and dying. He uses Steve's DNA again to cure himself from what he was dying from. I think this might be a different story but there was one where Howard used Steve and Bucky's DNA, so they were both his dad. I have a few fics I've been looking for, and I'm hoping you can help me find them. I've looked through this community to give me fic recs for things I wouldn't normally read, and I've seen how helpful you've been, so I hope this works out...

Trigger warning for the first ask for pedophilia/abuse

1. This was on the Avengers kinkmeme, but I couldn't find it when looking through the meme. Basically, Steve has pedophiliac urges that he never acts on, and Tony realizes due to his own experiences with Howard, and has Steve move in to the Tower and not do kiddie events so Tony can keep an eye on Steve.

2. This fic I read back when I was first reading Avengers fanfic, and I know it was on AO3, which was probably... a year or two ago? Not sure, and not sure how old it was when I found it. I only remember one little bit, which is the part that is why I want to reread it. I think it was a Steve/Tony fic, and the interaction I remember was DEFINITELY between Steve and Tony. Basically, Tony tells Steve some of the things Yinsen told him in the cave, such as being a person with everything and nothing... and Steve is angry at Yinsen- because he feels that Yinsen put some rather impossible expectations on Tony, or something... I don't remember the details. I don't think Steve said anything to Tony about it, but I do think it was a H/C with Steve/Tony or at least Steve & Tony friendship.

I also have a couple general fic rec searches.

3. Ones where Steve, Tony and Bucky are great friends. Any two of them can be in a relationship, but for this, I don't want Stuckony/WinterIronShield (I like Stuckony, just not for this search). Basically, two of them are in a relationship, and the third is a good bro to both of them. I want all the friendship feels- I want the focus to be on the friendship aspect, especially with Tony given the epicness of Steve and Bucky. Either pre-Civil War, no Civil War, or Civil War fixit where the fixit of Civil War has happened or isn't the focus of the story unless that's part of the epic friendship. Heavy on the comfort/fluff- angst is okay, but only if there's a happy ending and LOTS of comfort.

4. Tony H/C, that's long and basically wallows in both the hurt and the comfort- I'm talking 50/50 here (Okay, 70/30). Also, the end needs to be happy. No Tony/Bruce, Tony/Thor, Tony/Loki or Tony/Natasha, and if Tony/Pepper, I want it to be background. The comfort should come from Steve or Bucky, though I wouldn't mind Clint or Darcy (though I prefer not a ship if Darcy, I'll read Tony/Darcy occasionally) or the whole team at the same time. Basically, give me angst and hurt and then let me come out through it. This one can be Stuckony/WinterIronShield. If it's a Civil War fic, it needs to be a fix it that, even if there's a lot of hurt getting there, fixes it in the end and makes everyone happy. BTW, I'm counting in the "comfort" part places where Tony is still hurting but people are trying to fix it- that's why I want a lot of comfort.

Does anyone know of any fics where Howard doesn't leave the company to Tony, or even cuts him out of his will entirely? Whether it's because Tony is female or an omega, or because Howard is vindictive, or manipulated by Obie, etc. I'd be really interested in reading about Tony starting out without the benifit of a billion dollar company at his back, but still managing to invent the kind of tech that allows him/her to become Iron Man. Any pairings are welcome, I'll ship Tony with practically anyone!

I read this not long ago but now I can't find it. It was probably gen, not too long and complete.

It featured Tony as a pre-schooler and Good Dad Howard. No one thinks anything of the bumps and bruises Tony seems to get, believing it's just part of growing up. It's not until Tony comes walking in on a broken leg (from trying to fly, maybe?) that Howard takes him to the hospital, where Tony proceeds to show everyone in the ER how he can "wiggle his leg all over". It turns out that Tony has CIPA (a rare genetic disorder that makes him unable to feel pain.) Once they are back home, Howard has a long talk with Tony about how important science is and get his interest focused on lab work rather than being more athletic.

I am pretty sure I read this on AO3, but it's been a while. Basically what I remember is Tony and Loki become pen pals through a school program and I'm pretty sure the entire fic was like posted with pictures of handwritten letters, not just text. It wasn't finished when I first read it so I just stopped and thought I would come back to it later, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Where I had finished reading up to ge latest chapter, Tony and Loki were not really writing anymore. They were teenagers now and had some kind of falling out - I think over their fathers or something.

There are two (unrelated) stories I've been searching for all week and I'm finally giving up and coming to you. The first one has Tony catering a Nathan's hot dog feast as a surprise treat for Steve. He either has Happy go and pick up the food or has one of the Nathan's cooks come to the penthouse. Just becaue Steve said he missed the food, but you know Tony won't admit it. :-)

In the second story it's revealed, probably through some old paperwork they find, that each of the Avengers had been exposed to versions of the serum that changed Steve Rogers' and Bruce Banner's lives so drastically. Natasha got it through the Red Room as a child. Clint and Barney were involved in test trials when they were young. Howard was involved in the trials but Tony was not supposed to be given the serum. When that was done behind Howard back, that was when Howard became neglectful and/or abusinve toward Tony. Don't know about Thor; would he need it?

He does his best not to affect history, but he does hook up with Steve. When he gets back to the present, he and Steve repair their shitty MCU canon relationship.

I'm looking for a short ficlet that I think was on tumblr, set during WWII, from Howard Stark's perspective. He was watching Bucky, who he had a crush on/found attractive although he was trying to be subtle about it, only either Bucky himself or one of the Howlies (possibly Dugan?) tells him he should be careful because Bucky's a taken man & the Captain doesn't share and he looks up/across where they're stood to see Steve smirking at him possessively.

I know most crossing universes stories are time related, at least the ones I've seen. Where Howard and/or Peggy get thrown forward from a time when Tony was a young boy to post Chitauri. There's one where Iron Man get in the way of as Asgardian spell and finds himself in the right time and place to find Budky right after he falls off the train. Tony saves Bucky from being found by Hydra and brings him back with him when they find a way to come back to Tony's current time. There's another story where Tony's testing of the Tessaract accidentily sends his teenage son, Steve back to World War One Brooklyn where he meets his new best friend Bucky (most of the rest of this story is pretty much movie canon, except for the hostility between the two). (See From Winter's Cold, Stark Problems, and Steven Anthony Stark, all at AO3)

What I'd like to find is any story where a modern version of Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, or any of the teammates somehow cross over into the movie canon. Maybe right before the Chitauri attack, or soon after. I assume they won't be exactly the same, accouting for different decisions and events making their experiences and personalities somewhat different. For example there is one story where an older alt-verse Cap sends his Dr. Strange to help what is left of the team (Nat and Bucky are SHIELD controlled hostiles) after Steve tries to kill himself, by aranging to strip his system of the serum, changing his body back to its pre-serum size and mortality (On Top of the World by Setcheti as AO3) I wonder how the two versions or teams would get along. Would thay be able to fight together right away. Or would their be hostility between two Tonys (one's a hopeless drunk, maybe)?

I'm looking for two things.

Seconds is a fic I forgot the name of. I believe it was Tony centric. The avengers were watching a news cast that went deep into all of their personal history. The avengers were angry but by the end when it was Tony's part it got serious. They talked about how Howard Stark abused Tony. I think there was a video of him torturing Tony to simulate a kidnapper trying to get information from him, information being a password of some sort. I think Tony cracked, the password being Steve's birthday. The footage was given to the news by an old maid.

Specific fic- it was about the news or whatever going deeper into Tony's dark past like how crappy Howard stark treated him (physical abuse?)and Afghanistan etc. the team is watching this and is surprised. I think like a lady came forward with some evidence or something of child abuse (might be a different fic)I don't remember where I read it exactly but I think it was ao3 but I'm not sure.

EDIT: I also remember them going through all the other avengers stories and got dirt on them too.

I'm looking for a shortish story I read at least a year ago on AO3. It's probably Steve/Tony friendship though it could be pre-slash I guess. In the story Steve finds out that Howard wasn't a very good father to Tony or even a good man in his later years. He is angry and storms out (to the roof of Stark tower I think). He talks out loud to himself how only one man deserved to have his name on the tower as his legacy and that the other doesn't deserve it (or something like that). Tony is watching a video of it and thinks Steve it talking about him not deserving Howard's legacy, but just as he is about to cut off the video feed Steve says something that makes him realise that he is talking about Howard not being worthy of Tony's achievments. Does this ring any bells?

I'm looking for a fic that I'm dying to read again, but for the life of me I can't remember enough details to find it. So, I thought I would ask you all for help.

~~Steve goes down in the ice, but somehow his mind/spirit finds its way to a nightlight(??) that Howard built and put in Baby!Tony's nursery.
~~There was a scene between Howard and Maria around when the machine/nightlight was put in Baby!Tony's room, a vague "brining home baby" theme a think, but I'm not sure.
~~I remember something about Tony calling or thinking of Steve as the "Sssshhh Man" or something like that because even though Steve was aware of someone being beyond the murky surrounding he was lost in he couldn't really comminucate more than a shushing/whisper sound at first.
~~The more the years pass the more Steve was able to communicate in actual words, but I think mostly he could only communicate with Tony for some reason.

Annnddd... that's about it. I just distinctly remember the machine/nightlight/?? Howard invented, it being in Baby!Tony's room, the shushing noise Steve made at first that only Tony heard and being able to talk later on. I know it ends with Steve waking up and him being with Tony in the end, but that's it.

Does anyone know any fics about Bucky realizing he kills Howard and being UPSET about it?

I’ve read a lot of fics where Tony is upset about it. But usually all those fics have Bucky oddly not caring at all, or only concerned about it in regards to the idea that Tony is upset.

Except, of all the kills possibly attributed to the Winter Soldier, Howard was the only one that Bucky KNEW and was possibly FRIENDS with. So, I kind of wondering if there are fics out there that would explore Bucky's thoughts/feelings about the event.

Hey, everyone! I'm looking for a specific Stucky fic that I read on ao3 ages ago. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was a series, but maybe not.

It was a pre-war Stucky story with always-a-girl!Steve. Stucky was married when they went to the Expo where they met Howard. Stucky and Howard became friends and both Bucky and Steve (Steph?) are injected with the serum eventually, but I think Bucky was first. Sarah Rogers and Mrs. Barnes were featured as was the Rogers' Irish heritage. Lots of Irish endearments from the characters, especially Bucky (he picked it up from the Rogers.

Hi! I've been searching for two fics in particular, and I have another general rec request.

The first fic is long, begins pre-ironman and is Tony-centric. (Also, I love angst so it probably had a healthy helping of that). I know it has Loki, and I know it has Fury -- in this fic, Fury has a huge soft spot for Tony. Tony also thinks of Fury in a more paternal way. In any case, the scene that I really remember is where Fury says "Ant. Boot." to Loki, and Tony thinks that that is so badass (and just like Fury). I think Tony was smirking or smiling? I don't know... I've been looking all over for this fic and I can't find it! Oh, and it was, because of the nature of the fic, either gen or pepperony.

The second fic (it may be the same) is also another long Tony-centric fic, but in this one, for whatever reason, Tony doesn't drink, and when he's giving his speal to Loki, Loki notices and Tony winks at him. I'm pretty sure it was tea that Tony was drinking?

Lastly, and I'm sorry that this is so long, I'm looking for any really long Tony-centric fics that start from his childhood? Preferably slash -- any pairing, but I am more of a Stony girl.

I am looking for fics where classism is an issue for one or more of the Starks. It doesn't matter whether it is someone snubbing one of them as NOCD (Not Our Class, Dear) for being 'New Money'; or a Stark disregarding someone because they are poor, or, working class; or an intermediary blocking access on the presumption that the person being contacted wouldn't want to talk to someone like that.

A case where someone NOCDs (NTCD?) themself, not trying to interact with the other person because they don't think they're good enough/important enough would also fit.

I believe the fic I'm looking for is on Ao3. It's a Steve/Tony fic that has a kid Peter as their kid. I believe Peter's about five or six. Howard someone ends up in the future and one day Steve has an appointment or something so he drops Peter off in a Shield room with Howard without telling Tony. When Tony finds out where Peter is he goes straight there only to find Howard yelling at Peter or hitting him or something and Peter is crying. Tony hits Howard just as Steve comes in and Steve gets mad and yells at Tony asking what kind of example he's setting for Peter. Tony doesn't care and just picks Peter up and takes them to the bathroom where they hide underneath the counter because small places make Peter feel safe. Steve comes in and apologizes for yelling at Tony and I think that's it. I can't find the story in my bookmarks anymore so help finding it would be appreciated.

Okay, so I have recently started reading Avengers-fanfiction, and I find that I really, really like it. I mostly prefer fics with slash-pairings, but gen is good too.

I really hope you can help me, because this has been bugging me. Because I can barely find any of these, and I really hope there's more.

1. I read a fic where Steve was one of the soldiers with Tony in the humvee, and he goes temporarily deaf. So I was wondering if there are any fics where Tony becomes permanently/temporarily deaf, blind or mute either while in Afghanistan or during the Avengers? Or comes back from Afghanistan permanently injured (that is not the arc reactor, but he has that too), maybe he had to amputate an arm? Maybe even no one knows of this injury?

2. Any fics that closely follow the original timeline (MCU), but Howard Stark isn’t dead? Or he is brought forward in time? And then he is either a really good father, a bad father or a mix between them.

3. I also read a Howard/Steve-series, The Joys of Step-Parenting, where Steve becomes Tony’s Step-Father, so I was wondering if there are any other fics like that because I literally fell in love. Steve as Tony's step-father. I really liked that idea.

4. (added this as I noticed I had managed to hit a wrong tag.. hidden identity) I have read a lot of these, where iron man's identity is hidden. This got me thinking. Are there any fics where everyone wears masks to hide their identity, so that even the Avengers don't know who they are actually fighting with?

I would be really happy for any fic-recs received. They don't have to be spot on, but similar is good. I'll accept any pairings, even if I am more inclined to read slash-pairings, I can even read fics with no pairings or with het-pairings. I just really want to read more fics like this if it was possible. The length of the fics don't really matter, although I love longfics, I can read shortfics too. Just not any crack, please.

I know there's at least one such story 'cause I'm read it. I just can't remember where it is. I'd also like to find any other story where Tony's father shows up during the present (Avengers) time. The one I read shows how little Howard thought of Tony and how much he put Steve ahead of his own son, totally losing any respect Steve had for his mentor. There are lot os stories touching on the conflict between Steve and Tony over how the two men saw Howard and how how he can be so good to one and crappy to the other. I'd like to see how other writers would cover that.
