Long!fic, very very slow burn. Not Team Cap. Was on Ao3

The snap happens, Tony, Rhodey, Widow & Rogers survive.

The surviving population are either sent to work camps or hide (I think; it's been a Long Time)

Rhodey is in a wheelchair and sticks by Tony; Rogers & Widow are sent to a work camp.

Tony ends up recreating the gauntlet (?) and saves the universe/brings people back.

Seriously though, I read this pre-2020 (iirc), so the remembery machine is mush.

Loki is made king while Odin sleeps. Thor must still be banished, or it is AU.
Alien enemies rip skies open throughout the 9 realms to kill? feast? suck the life out of? everyone they find.
Loki seems able to predict where they will attack, but watching him toss daggers at a map behind him does little to inspire confidence in the warrior class for his leadership.
Enemy aliens turn out to be telepathic, reading the minds of their prey to outmanoeuver them. Unfortunately for them. Loki can believe he is a villain sending his forces to their doom even as he makes the arrangements that prove their salvation.

I lost a Stucky AU fic that had Bucky as a vet with depression, but he'd had it long before joining the military. And Steve was a vet with PTSD who painted his nightmares. Natasha (I think?) introduces them. It ends with Steve displaying some of his art at a local art show.

Hello!
I'm looking for a Bucky/Tony fanfic where Tony travels back in time and ends up in the 40s. He decides to join the war effort as a soldier and quickly climbs the ranks. I think he still has the arc reactor. The story is told as Tony tells about the events to Nick Fury in the future. I think it was written before the Winter Soldier movie came out and was quite long but still unfinished when I read it. It's on Ao3.

Some scenes/plot points I remember:
The time travel was caused by aliens, I think. I remember a scene at the beginning of him talking to them before they set him off. Might be wrong about this one though.
Tony gets kidnapped (instead of Bucky or with him) by Hydra and is injected with the super-soldier serum.

Can anyone recommend a good Tony-centric fic where the Avengers deal with a successful alien invasion? I want a world where aliens have gained control of the Earth, either enslaving or attempting to eradicate humanity, and the Avengers have to hide from their alien overlords while still fighting back. I really want to see Tony and the others leading the resistance or something. Tony whump and angst are my jam so that's a must. I prefer pre-Ultron and Civil war pls, but I can read post ones where the team is not so fractured. Just a bit dysfunctional but still a family.

No clue if such a fic exists but I NEED IT!

I guess I’m searching for something set post civil war, where someone from team cap thinks “oh no, why did the Thanos threat have to happen after the Avengers are broken”. I can easily imagine Tony blaming himself, so I would love to see that kind of character development from team cap. From Natasha maybe? From Steve? Any ideas? Thank you.

I remember reading this story, but of course I can't recall title, author, or exactly where I found it. It's about Bucky Barnes and the men he fighting with before his first capture. I'm pretty sure it's the 107th, the future(?) Howling Commandoes. Like the rest of them, Sgt. Barnes get sweet letter from his girl and comments are made all around. Toward the end of the story, the guys get some down time and (all of them? most? just one?) get to meet up with their sweeties. That when the guys realize that "Stevie" isn't a girl, not that Barnes ever said he was.

Tony is accidentally transported back to WWII, and knowing he can't get back himself with the technology available, pretends to be his own uncle. He does his best not to affect history, but he does hook up with Steve. When he gets back to the present, he and Steve repair their shitty MCU canon relationship.

Looking for this fic I read one or two years ago. The Tesseract wasn't an Infinity stone but rather one of four sister tesseracts created by an ancient race. Loki was able to connect with the main one and through it the others that were out in space. I remember the battle involved the Avengers as well as other superheroes and others from the nine realms. I can remember the Elves from Alfheim brought casks of restorative wine and passed out cups to those who were flagging. Eir and her group of healers set up triage areas. Loki was able to defeat Thanos by using the power from the tesseracts. I've been searching through my bookmarks on AO3 but I have over 2000. I don't remember if this was gen or slash. I'm not sure if this is from the same fic but I think Lady Death was in it as well, but only Thanos could see her. Every time he would harvest souls for her she would gain substance. Near the end she became visible to the others. They though she was a figment of his imagination at first. Does any of this sound familiar? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks!

Looking for a fanfiction I read maybe a year ago.

I'm, like, 98% sure it was steve/tony, but I suppose I could be mistaken and that's why I couldn't find the fic.

Basically, the Avengers are having a big paintball game in the Tower which Steve(?? We'll say Steve) is unaware of. He comes home and sees Tony covered in 'blood' (red paint) and has a panic attack, I think.

If this story has been removed, does anybody have a copy they can send me, or at least the old link so I can try and find it via the wayback machine.

I'm looking for a story that was posted to ao3 sometime between when First Avenger came out and when Winter Soldier came out.

Steve got the super soldier serum, went to go fight Hydra, but then somehow went evil and took over Hydra (I think Red Skull ordered him tortured, but it's been a while). One day a Hydra minion brought Steve a tortured prisoner, who Steve recognized as Bucky. Steve kept Bucky basically as his private slave from then on, where no one else was allowed to hurt Bucky but Bucky wasn't allowed to leave. Bucky would try to starve himself whenever Steve left the base (as suicide seemed to Bucky to be the only way out), so Steve ordered him force fed. There was also a bit set years later where Steve has the Hydra scientists give Bucky the serum so Bucky won't grow old and die and escape that way.

IIRC, it was told from the point of view of a hydra minion/scientist.

Okay so I seem to have lost the name of a fic that I read some time back. it was a two part series and the first one had to do with Bucky and the Winter Soldier being two separate personalities. anyway bucky finds out that steve is gone and asks the winter soldier to help him find steve. the soldier doesn't like his handlers and does so going to shield to get part of the info they needed and leaving them a measage about hydra while they're at it. bucky find's steve and he wakes up, and together they go off on a hydra killing spree before shield finds them and hires them.
the second one is the averngers with bucky there too.
please help me find it
i will swear it is on AO3. It is a series and they were both fairly long but not too long.

I can't remember what pairing this story is, just a scene where the characters are in a nightclub and there's a song with gunfire that triggers one of them. They end up outside, trying to come down from the flashback. Pretty sure it's a non-powered modern AU and the character in question is a veteran. I'm also pretty sure I've seen fanart for this story, so I don't know if it was part of a Bang or just had art done for it.

Ok this is what I remember:

Odin and Thor go to Loki for help in defeating an enemy that does not follow logic and they cannot seem to form the right tactical plan to defeat it and I think Loki figures out or Odin says it that he plans to put Loki on the throne cause he is going into Odin sleep. At first no one was happy cause Loki just sent Sif and other people to a random place and as he was telling people to swear allegence to him they got word that the group he sent was actually winning though they needed back up, but Loki said he can't do that since no one swore to him. I remember a couple of scenes where Loki threw a knife at a map I believe to choose the next place to send the troops, golden apples on the side of the road, and tentecles coming out of portals.

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if anyone has come across any amazing (preferably real world, but not necessarily) AUs of Loki/Clint. I've read "I've Suffered Shipwrecks", "Gnossiene", "The Avengers High School AU" (by DonRicci, because that title is fairly vague), and was looking for more.

I'm fine with just about anything, but I am quite sick of the non-con/dub-con side of Clint/Loki's relationship... All the fics I come across seem to involve that in some way.

If anyone can also recommend some Kid!Loki fics (where he's an adorable cherub and not a criminal mastermind in the making, and where, preferably, the Avengers are looking after him) I'd also appreciate that.

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for fics which detail the absolute f*cking disaster NYC must have been, after the movie. Injured civillians, injured agents, soldiers, devastated infrastructure, devastated everything. Most fics mention it, but shoot straight past it. I don't think it would have been that easy.

Give me something that shows just how shocking the destruction would have been. Something that details the loss of life, and the overflowing hospitals, and the overworked doctors, and somehow there's nothing much the avengers can do. Maybe tony can help with tech, or donate money or space, but nothing hands on, and nothing anyone else can do. Something that details the rebuilding of life for the common person, you know?

I don't care what pairing but I'm good with anything, I'm good with gen.

Hi! I'm brand new to this community with a couple of general searches for Philanthropist!Tony.

1) I just re-watched the first Iron Man this weekend and I got kind of distracted by the part where Tony was talking to Christine (the Vanity Fair reporter) about "the millions we've saved by advancing medical technology." And now I'm wondering if there are any fics that mention Tony personally engineering things of the medical variety. It seems like there should be something about him developing better prostheses or something like that, right? Or, I dunno...water filtration systems for 3rd world countries?

2) I sort of especially love the scene of him with the G.I.s and I'd love to read anything with him supporting causes for veterans. Or really, interacting with soldiers or veterans in any way. He just had such a great rapport with the soldiers in that first scene, and I think he would have been big on their causes even before having his change of heart about weapons manufacturing, and I think the guilt over seeing his weapons used to kill American soldiers would just amplify that even more.

I'd especially love fics relating to the other Avengers finding out about all the ways in which Tony is awesome and caring and stuff, but I'll take pretty much anything, pre- or post- Avengers, any pairing, whatever.

Hmm...no tags related to philanthropy. Is that not a thing here? Cause I really feel that that should be a thing.

Hi everyone, so I've read all I could find that fits with Steve being a soldier and going to war while Tony is a bit of 'army wife' scientist or doctor etc. What I want is more and I can't find any other than: The Twice Told Tale by aristeia, The Heat and Breeze by bellinibeignet and the Five Times Steve Held Tony and the One Time Steve Let Tony Hold Him by Sonora. I know the prevalent theme in these stories isn't the soldier/civillian aspect but it's there and I want more of it. So if any of you know about any others, please rec.
