I wondered if there were any Gen fics where Steve Rogers gets sent back to his own time somehow? Expectantly he's happy to be back, to see people like Howard and Peggy and the commandos, maybe he even manages to save Bucky, but he comes to miss his future life and his Avenger team and may come to feel he belongs in the future with them.
I was thinking of this after watching the first Captain America and Avenger movies, and thinking some people might have put such an idea into action considering those moments where Steve misses the 40's. I feel like I may have come across one or two but they were slash.
I'm only looking for Gen stories, no pairings please. I don't mind Steve/Peggy. Stories that can be canon to the mcu so to speak.

I want any fic that has steve so sweet and humble, maybe stuck in his pre-serum mentality; as in he doesn't understand how he is loved for who he is. and of course Tony is in love in him, and wants to give him the world and pamper him but steve is just confused and never asks for anything. I would love to read any hurt/comfort, angst with a lot of cute bottom steve.

I can't find three Steve-centered things that I'm sure were on tumblr, which is a nightmare to try and search.

1) An old historical facts type post, about how the ring-pull tabs on fizzy drink cans were invented during the time Steve was in the ice. It was illustrated with a chibi of Steve squinting suspiciously at a can/ring pull.

2) A short fic set after the Avengers- Steve has just moved to DC, and decides (or maybe is nudged by Natasha?) that he's not going to repeat his sadness errands from between CAtFA and TA. He starts by braving a shopping mall to get new trainers, although initially he asks for something practical/hardwearing/resilient and gets offered something like crocs before going through the process of being measured & fitted for proper running shoes. The ficlet ended after he's got the shoes, on his first morning run around the National Monument when he sees another guy out running, segueing into the meeting with Sam at the beginning of the Winter Soldier.

3) I thought this might be an Imagine Steve post, although I can't find it on their blog. It was a prompt or headcanon 'what-if'; about how what would happen if the Serum functioned so that Steve could revert back to his pre-Serum state mostly at will, but it would happen involuntarily if he was particularly stressed or worn out. With all the stress post-WS of the fall of Shield & trying to find Bucky, he reverts back and that's when Natasha comes over to see him and finds out. I'm not sure if it ended on a suggestion of using him in his smaller form to try and lure Bucky out.

I'm hoping this sounds familiar to someone. It's either Tony/Steve or Tony & Steve friendship. Thor brings back mead or ale or some type of alcohol from Asgard. I believe it only makes the drinker as drunk as they wish to be. Steve finds that it works on him and because he is sad/depressed/missing the past he starts drinking it nearly all of the time. Tony finds out and realizes just how bad Steve is feeling. He starts spending time with him and they grow close. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know I read it on AO3 if that helps.

I apologize if it a trigger request, but I was looking for fix that have Steve Being raped. they have to be stories after he took the serum, and all the avengers are overprotective of him, also Loki and Bucky are overprotective too. I want to see the process of the rape to see his suffering and the pain inflected on him, maybe how he is lost and losing his faith in people and the new world.

please as much hurt and vulnerable Steve as possible.

also, if there are any stories with Steve/OMC, where the other man is the top but he is nice and very loving of Steve. the team may be shocked to know him later

so it was in my mind, what if steve was being tested on and being studied, so he still goes to missions, work with the team but always called in to be tested and some of these tests are hard on him physically and emotionally but he does not think it is something to be frowned upon, or something he should protest on, he does not think he could say NO. then the team finds out or not, they help him or not does not matter as long as the story is with in this limit.

I would prefer it to be Stony (with bottom steve) of Gen but any other pairing is acceptable

I remember there once being this fanfiction of Tony and Steve on fanfiction.net (I think). I thought I saved it but I didn't and I haven't been able to find it since. It's post-Avengers movie and I think Tony and Steve are outside when Steve suddenly begins talking about his depression and suicidal feelings. This causes him to break down and tell the truth about himself. Tony is upset and decides to help Steve through all of this. If anyone knows what this is, please give the link. Thank you.

I'm in a weird mood right now and having focus issues. Trawling through Ao3 like this is basically resulting in me just scrolling through the pages without actually seeing them. So if anyone could help me out, that would be awesome!

Things I want to see -
Pairings - Romance not necessary, but if it's there, I prefer Tony/Steve, Clint/Steve, Sam/Steve, Tony/Pepper/Steve, Clint/Natasha/Steve. (I wouldn't say no to Steve/Pietro, Steve/Bruce or Steve/Coulson if someone knows any that are awesome, but I'm not actively looking for those)

Steve struggling with PTSD/depression/suicidal thoughts
Steve hurt and trying to hide it. hurt can either be physical or emotional (like one of Tony's jokes or jabs hits him right in the solar plexus and he can't really shake it)
Steve dealing (or not dealing) with being lonely
Asexual or demi-sexual Steve
Steve being afraid of losing these new people that he's let close
Steve being too afraid of losing anyone else to let anyone close

Someone (or everyone) noticing and helping him with/talking to him about any of the above.

AU or canon is fine, but I would prefer movie!Steve to comic!Steve

Things I don't want to see -
Pairings - Bucky/Steve or Natasha/Steve(without Clint) romantically together. Any Clint/Coulson should be as far to the background as possible and absent entirely preferred. Rather not with any Bruce/Natasha right now, either.

the second one is kind of contacted to the first one. I want a story where steve has to talk (to any one) about the fact he was committing suicide by crashing the plane and he was fine with it.

Hi...so I am new to this community so "HI" :)

I am also new to reading in this fandom...but I took a HUGE liking to Captain America so I am in desperate need of reading some angsty hurt sick Steve...I would love to read his internal conflict, how things affect him and he hides them from the team...how the team starts to notice and try to help...I want to cry and wish to hug Steve.

if you have anything with him having a very sick heart, or facing a very hard and dangerous pregnancy ( I do not mind Mpreg). I love it when he is in a relationship with all the avengers but if I had to choose it would be Tony or Bruce...Bucky not so much he is the best friend.

I know its a tall order but I am counting on you so please help me :)

I don't know if what I'm looking for exists, but anything close will do.

What I really, really want is for Tony and Pepper to be tother but either have an open relationship or be on again/off again with an understanding that affairs for either during the off phases cannot be held against them. I want Tony seducing Steve or maybe just noticing that Steve is hot for him and deciding "sure, why not?" without realizing that Steve is expecting more than just sex.

I want Steve realizing that Tony is still with Pepper or back with Pepper and that he's just the fluff on the side.

Hey guys. I've tried to search for this steve/tony fic for a really long time but I still can't, so I'm here to ask for help. I don't remember if it was posted on AO3 or fanfiction.net but what i do remember is that

1. Steve couldn't sleep without the arc reactor (the light and the noise it produces)
2. Tony was away on a business trip
3. Steve calls him during a moment of weakness or something
4. Tony recorded a video of his reactor for steve to replay

Hi everyone,

I've been looking do a story I read a while ago where Steve didn't go to Shwarma with the rest o the team and maybe could go the second thing they did together as well (?); I can't remember if it was because he was injured or debriefed...

Anyway, he was also the last one to be asked to move into Avengers Tower and he begins to realise he is never asked to go to dinner or movie nights with everyone and feels left out. I think he ends up walking into a movie night and asking why the team don't like him. That's all I remember but I would really like to read it again so please help!!

Hey guys I was wondering if I could get a little help. I remember reading a fic a while back I think on AO3. It was Stony. Steve owned a coffee shop and had custody of Peter. Tony comes in from time to time, usually hungover, and Steve generally doesn't like him. Eventually they move past it. I'm pretty sure it was a nonpowered AU as well. Then he trashes his apartment and Bruce comes by and cleans up the glass and checks up on him. I think it might have been Steve/Tony, but I can't be sure, and if it was it was still pre-relationship/slow build (in the chapters I've read). Fairly certain that it's a wip, and not complete.

2. The scene that stands out to me is: the Avengers (plus Fury), have gathered for a meeting/debrief? and there is some tension/back-and-forth/comments between Steve and Tony which Steve reacts strongly to, stunning everyone when he gets up asks Natasha for the notes (which she silently agrees to do for him) and leaves before the meeting/debrief ends/possibly before it starts. I don't remember if it was shippy or not.

1. Looking for a short fic that might have been on a kinkmeme. In it, Loki is a child but Thor's consort. Thor has never done anything with Loki and has no desire to until he is of age. But the Avengers meet Loki and question whether or not Thor has done anything (but Thor assures them he has not). I remember that Loki does something (maybe like pressing his fingers to Thor's lips?) that Thor thinks is clever because it is Loki's way of showing he loves Thor without it being creepy.

2. Any fics where Steve is tortured.

3. Fics where Steve is lonely or insecure (about his body post-serum or his life).

So, Captain America 2 made me actually like Steve Rogers! I have been reading a lot of Steve/Bucky fic but now want to branch out into Steve-centric fic. What I am looking for:

-Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Woobie, Just whump in general
-Anything focusing on how difficult Steve's past was (I have read a couple of good ones discussing how starved Steve felt/feels)
-Fics discussing Steve being awake and aware when he was frozen
-Fics discussing how the serum negatively effects Steve (always hungry, heals to fast, etc)
-I would prefer gen but pairings are okay as long as they are not the focus.
-If pairings, a focus on the fact that Steve grew up in a time where being homosexual was dangerous
-Happy endings (or at least ambiguous)
-NO CHARACTER DEATH OF STEVE

Any of the above would be awesome or any other stories you can recommend.

Hi! I have one fic that I vaguely remember. And then just a general question for recs.

1. My specific fic, and I remember seeing it on AO3, was one where Steve didn't get frozen. He marries Peggy and grows old with her. I also think he becomes a senator? Bucky, however, becomes the Winter Soldier and is unfrozen. So Bucky is still relatively young.

General: Okay so the general recs I would like to know is are their fics where Steve doesn't get frozen but doesn't age? Like due to the serum he ages really, really slowly? So instead of taking an ice nap, he lives through everything? But he still looks really young come the Avengers? Any recs for this type would be awesome. Also I don't care about pairings here. So anything you rec would be good as long as it keeps in line with some of it.

Steve is feeling lonely and missing his old friends, so he hides out in his Brooklyn apartment for several days -- lying in bed, not showering, only eating takeout. Tony eventually comes to check on him and makes some kind of sarcastic comment about how he's surprised Steve's not guzzling booze too. And Steve tells him he tried to get drunk, even though can't, and pulls out a box of empty bottles that he says he's keeping to recycle later. I think Tony then invites him to stay in the Tower.
