The first takes place after a mission and Tony's reactor is failing/malfunctioning/running out o power, what-have-you. And he casually tries to skip the debriefing, but Fury's having none of it. I don't know if he tries to explain himself or simply agrees to humor Fury, but in the end it's clear that something is very, very wrong and everyone's like, "OHMYGOODNESSSOMEBODYHELPHIM."

The second is very much Tony/Clint bromance, where they're getting ready for a gala or something and Tony is late, so Pepper sic's Clint on him to drag Tony out of the lab, only Tony had been working on his arc reactor and something went awry, resulting in him going into cardiac arrest. It's super duper dramatic and Clint thinks Tony is dead after frantically reconnecting the arc reactor, until Tony simply sits up and mutters something about how the chinese food he'd eaten earlier must have given him heartburn. At one point he actually notices Clint's anguish and thinks Natasha's castrated him or something, haha!

So yeah, if someone could help me out, I will be forever in your debt!!

Hi!

I'm looking for a specific fic wherein the team (Tony, Thor, Steve, etc.) are (casually?) discussing Mjölnir. At some point, someone suggests pinning Tony down with Thor's hammer, and Tony's like, "that's probably a bad idea" and Steve responds with "why, afraid of being pinned down?" (something along those lines) and Tony, Bruce, and Nat just start listing how the hammer would kill him should it be placed on the reactor. Steve interrupts, grief/guilt-stricken, apologizes, and that's where my memory of the fic ends.

I'm not sure if this is enough for anyone to work with, but it certainly wasn't enough for me to work with, but if anyone remembers this, please link. Thank you!

Pepper, out of the blue, pull the reacter from Tony's chest and leaves him to die. Phil finds him and is able to stop Tony from dying. Everyone thinks Pepper is missing, but Tony tells them it was her and Tasha is PISSED.

I'm looking for a fic I read a few years ago.

Tony and Steve are stuck in a cell somewhere with a heavy door separating them to the corridor outside. When the Avengers arrive to rescue them, Natasha tells them (through the door) that they'll need to wait a bit since she can't open the door. Steve ("no need to wait") than gets the idea to use Tony's arc reactor ("I'll just borrow this") to power the electronic on the door to open it. The thing is, Steve doesn't know that the arc reactor is Tony's life support, so when the door open and Natasha sees Steve proudly holding the arc reactor up, she freaks out, takes the arc reactor from his hands and rushes to Tony, who is quietly having a heart attack in the back of the cell. Steve is of course remorseful on the plane ride back home, Natasha is protective and glaring at him, and Tony ends up forgiving him.

I think Tony might have been injured, freezing, or just not in good shape while in the cell, but I'm not sure.

Any help finding this fic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

have already searched AO3 tags, google and the arc reactor tags in this community for this fic with no luck. i barely remember any thing about this fic, no author, no title, i dont think it was overly long and i dont think there was a big focus on the pairing, if there was any it would have been steve/tony. it must have been written after 'the avengers,' or at least after 'captain america, the first avenger' but definitely before 'iron man 3.'

Hi guys, I'm looking for post-Avengers fics where Asgard and other realm or interstellar powers (like the Kree, Xandar, etc.), see Earth's defeat of the Chitauri and take notice--realizing that Earth is already on its way to becoming a major power in its own right. I'm especially looking for fics with one or more of the following:

Hello. I'm looking for a specific fic that contains a Tony/Bruce friendship scene. I'm pretty sure the scene is part of a large fic. Bruce wants to thank Tony for giving him a place to live, and he realizes that the arc reactor puts a huge strain on Tony's body. Bruce used knowledge of herbs gained on his travels to create a mix of anti-inflammatory and immune supportive daily shot. He teaches Tony's chef to make it up for Tony daily as a "shot" mixed with coconut milk. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

For the life of me I can't remember the name of this story, here are the details:
-Because of the arc reactor Tony takes lost of medicine
-His medicine is ordered and delivered by Phil Coulson
-Phil goes on a mission/trip and tells his replacement to not touch any of the orders
-Replacement throws away the orders for Tonys med thinking this will get him promoted and Phil demoted
-Tony is keeping himself locked in his room to keep from getting sick
-Phil comes back just in time to save Tony (or something)

I've been looking for this fic for a while now: Bruce is living in the Tower with Tony and Pepper. Tony and Pepper are in a relationship but Tony is attracted to Bruce. Pepper notices. One day Bruce asks Tony if he can see the arc reactor and Tony takes it out of his chest and lets Bruce look at it. Hey guys. I've tried to search for this steve/tony fic for a really long time but I still can't, so I'm here to ask for help. I don't remember if it was posted on AO3 or fanfiction.net but what i do remember is that

1. Steve couldn't sleep without the arc reactor (the light and the noise it produces)
2. Tony was away on a business trip
3. Steve calls him during a moment of weakness or something
4. Tony recorded a video of his reactor for steve to replay

Hi! I've never asked for any fics until now. I'm looking for one specific story and maybe some related ones.

1) I remember reading a story where Avengers have some kind of a meeting or are gathered somewhere. Steve and Tony had an argument over Tony's behavior. I don't know the details, but one scene was for sure: Steve took out Tony's arc, believing it was just a piece of machinery and Tony was just using it to get attention. He then kind of panicked when Tony got weak and found out about Tony's condition. I'm pretty sure it was either no parings, Steve/Tony or Tony/Pepper. And I think it was chaptered.

2) I'm looking for al kinds of Tony whump!, but especially those involving the arc reactor. Somthing about Avengers not knowing about Starks condition and finding out or about them not knowing and trying to take the reactor out?

I'm looking for a specific fic where Tony needs heart surgery because something-something-arc reactor and he needs to insert a pacemaker, maybe? The fic delves deeply into how affected Tony is by the fact that his heart isn't working properly, and in the process how much closer he and the team become. It's a Tony/Pepper fic, but I do remember that the team eventually all starts sleeping in Tony&Pepper's bed, especially while Tony is so sick (it is not OT6/OT7, though perhaps it could be read to be heading that way). Also, Tony performs part of the surgery on himself, under the supervision of doctors. The team is watching from an observation room, and when the doctors re-insert the arc reactor the jolt nearly kills Tony.

Hi guys I'm going crazy trying to find this one fic. I'm 99.9% sure it is on ao3 and what I remember is that Steve and Tony had gone on a date and I think they were laying down on a blanket star gazing when a man comes up to them with a shotgun and starts yelling at them because he thinks they are thieves/trespassers or something. I think the man gets scared by the reflection of Tony's arc reactor or something and he shoots breaking the casing of the arc reactor. Steve freaks out etc etc and that is all I remember. Thanks!!

sorry guys, i lost another one!

it's a fic in which tony stark need some sort of special medication because of his arc reactor, and he gets it from phil. the trouble starts when phil goes on holiday (with clint???) and assigns stuff to another agent, who gets uppity and tries to cost cut so he'll get promoted. and he decides to cut costs on tony's medication.

and tony, naturally gets very sick. i remember that he had to go to some event and he told everyone he couldn't go, but cap got pissy and insisted, because he'd promised or something. so he goes and gets infected because of all the exposure to the crowd or something.

and when phil finally gets back he rips everyone a new as*hole for being so clueless about stuff, asking if they hadn't noticed his strange behaviour at the party and stuff. i remember clint had known about it, and he was disappointed with natasha for having messed up? or something?

*gets on knees*

please help? i've been trawling the interweb for forty minutes and i think i'm going crazy.

Hhey everybody! Nice to meet you all. I'm afraid I'm a bit late into this game and the sheer amount of fics out there are really starting to scare me, So I hope you can help.

1. Fics that showcase what things were like before the Thor movie between Thor and Loki. I'm not looking for abise fics, or angst fics where they hurt each other on purpose. I would prefer some brotherly love fics where they go on an adventure (I won't say no to Loki getting injured or hurt).
2. Any fics where Thor is a loving and protective older brother (even ones where Loki is a villian and Thor still looks out for him)

3. Any autistic Tony fics? Because sometimes the character reminds me so much of how my little brother acts who has aspergers.
4. Any fics about the Arc Reactor and how it's keeping Tony alive, and the avengers finding out.

5. Any good Clint/Tony fics out there... I'm becoming rather entranced by their fannon super snark in fics and want to see some good pairing fics. Any will be fine.

Whump is fine, but I'd rather avoid non-con, or over the top emotional angsts please. And please no Thor/Loki. I prefer them as just brothers.

Hey, I'm looking for a fic I read ages ago where Tony, Loki, Steve and Thor are all kidnapped.

Loki and Tony are held in room room, Thor and Steve in another. One of the kidnappers takes Stark's Arc Reactor and Loki tries to keep him alive with magic, but the bad guys keep breaking them up so Loki realises that if he pretends to turn on Tony then he'll be able to stay close enough to keep him alive. So he pretends to rape Tony. Meanwhile in the other room Steve and Thor are shown on a TV Loki 'raping' Tony. Thor (I think, but it may be Steve) wants to smash the TV in anger but Steve tells him no, this is their only means of surveillance. They are furious and when they finally escape they are about to kill Loki, luckily Tony sets them straight just in time.

I really hope somebody knows this cause I really want to read it again. Thanks in advance :)

I haven't actually read this series; I marked it for later at AO3 and then AO3 ate it. What I can remember from the summary is that Bruce is fascinated by the arc reactor, and soon becomes fascinated by Tony. Science boyfriends type of thing with some smut and Bruce making the first move IIRC. I think the first part was fairly short (2-6K) and there were maybe half a dozen or more fics in the series. Either physically, eg. him crashing/sleeping for days/shivering/not able to keep anything down because he's too used to the damn chlorophyll/whatever (because I sure as hell am not buying that ~instantaneous recovery~ jazz, and he has to be exhausted at the very least from all those months of physical torment), or emotionally, eg. explaining to Pepper what exactly he was going to make her an omelette and tell her, Rhodey chewing him out for not telling him he was dying, you know...things like that. Or both.
Or just any hurt/comforty Tony-centric IM2 related fic.

Fluff is loved. Angst is also loved, but please, please, something with Tony getting the comfort he deserves after the hell he went through during the film. Please and thank you. ♥

Can someone please help me find this fic where Tonywxakes up feeling crappy and to sure why. He goes to the kitchen where the rest of the team is and they all ask if he is okay. A reminder pops on his tablet and then he remembers he was suppose to fix the AR. The tea finds out that he haven't been keeping up with repairing the AR or making sure there is a spare in case he needsa new one right away. The team chaste him and the give him some comfort.

This is my first time posting to this page but I'm trying to find two avengers fanfics: Fic A is a de-aging tony, to about six months, but the avengers notice that Tony doesn't behave quite like normal babies. I know Thor brings Loki who does a spell that helps but that's about all that I can remember about it. Fic B is about Tony being in a meeting with the Avengers and removing his reactor and counting the minutes to see who notices. Anyone who knows these two fics, I would be greatly appreciative.

Looking for a story I read recently, where Tony and Steve reverted to baseline: Tony losing the arc reactor, and Steve losing the Super soldier physique (and regaining his multitude of health issues). Steve continues leading the team via a control center that Tony builds for him, and in the end, he elects to remain in his pre-serum body when Bruce discovered that to change Steve back, Tony would have to be changed back, as well.

Hello! My computer recently gave up the ghost and took my favorites list along with it. I'm searching for two fics that I can't remember the names of, and didn't immediately recognize while going through this site.

Story #1: Tony's suit fills with water during a mission. Cue in flashbacks to waterboarding and torture while he was kidnapped in Afghanistan. Steve starts to notice something's wrong, and Pepper and/or Natasha (who know Tony's file) try to subtly explain what happened. Steve starts to spend time down in Tony's lab to keep him company, drawing and whatnot. I specifically remember Tony having a hard time while showering because of the PTSD.

Story #2: Tony and Steve are at a party. Tony gets drunk and seduces Steve. I remember that it was pretty explicit with the face-fucking. Tony manages to sneak out before Steve wakes up, and proceeds to avoid him for a long time. Turns out that Tony has been in love with Steve, but doesn't think Steve feels the same way (Steve might have been drunk during the party, idk). Steve eventually manages to track Tony down and confront him about what happened. Sex ensues.

I would appreciate any help I can get with finding these fics! Let me know if the summary's are too vague, and I'll do my best to explain certain scenes that I remember. Thank you!

I'm looking for a specific story set/written post-Avengers film, I believe. The whole team is living in Stark tower, I think, and at some point during a movie night? Tony falls asleep or something and someone (Steve?) bends over him on the couch and he has a flashback to Obie and freaks. Tries to cover it up and gets away fast.

There might be something where he has JARVIS do the explaining by running the footage, or maybe the Obie footage is involved somehow, or I'm conflating stories. I'd love pointers to any stories that involve the Obie betrayal, actually. I'm a huge arc reactor trauma glutton.

I'll be moving upstate in a few days and would really appreciate some fic recs to dump on my ereader! I'm looking primarily for stories that are epic in length, 50k words at least. Most of my reading so far has been in the Thor/Loki part of the fandom, but I'm branching out to Loki/Tony a bit as well. Completed fics are preferred, but active WIP are very welcome as well!

I tend towards slash fics, but am open towards het pairings or OT3+ pairings as well. Slow buildup for romance is great, although fics that deal with already established relationships are also good. Lots of drama! High tension! But also some comedy or fluff to balance it out. (Pretty much anything by scifigirl47 for example. XD ) I like fics that can hit a range of tone but still come together coherently.

I am an absolute stupid sucker for the following: jotun!Loki, competant!Thor, Tony being a smartass, Clint living in vents, Pepper being awesome, Avengers family feels, Tony's robots, space pirates (I blame Bend Around the Wind for that), Norse mythology ala Asgard, mythology remixes, putting the "universe" in MCU, exploring Jotenheim, exploring Jotuns, intersex!Jotuns, Loki getting 'redeemed' but still being a snarky little morally gray bastard, arranged marriage, the Avengers going from a team to a family, Natasha keeping her cool while everyone else loses their shit, etc.

Death!fics and heavy angst fics I have to take on a case by case basis. I can get immense satisfaction out of fics that put me through the emotional wringer, but don't enjoy stuff that makes me feel like I'm getting punished for reading it.

tl;dr : Moving, need long fics, so what's your favorite pairing/trope and what would you call its must read epics?

Me again! Back for more Tony!whump, because honestly, what else is there? I thought I'd asked for this one before, but maybe not since I couldn't find an entry about it, so here goes: I am pretty certain I read this story on the kinkmeme, and the team gets captured (again, wow what a fandom, lol) and that whole shebang, but Tony ends up with his arc reactor plugged into a wall. Awww, poor baby. And he has to unplug himself to rescue the rest of them, because the rest of the team are in cells or something, but Tony is just chilling in the hallway, plugged into the wall. Rude kidnappers.

( also, can I just say that this is canon? )

Anyway, yeah, that's the gist of it. Anyone know what story I'm talking about? I think there were actually two I came across that followed that basic format, but in one Tony is far more BAMF so I'd really like to read that one again, but both are fine. ;) Thanks in advance for any help, my amigos! Hi all, I am looking for a fic, but unfortunately I only remember one scene.

As I recall, Steve and Tony are in bed and somehow they get onto the subject of the arc reactor. Tony mentions something about when Pepper had to reach into his chest to fix it and Steve is shocked because he didn't realize the arc reactor was in Tony's chest rather than on it.

I know it's not a lot to go on, but does it ring any bells? Thanks in advance!

Hey, I recently read a fic on AO3 but now I can't find it! I think it was a one-shot. What I remember is that Tony was continually getting upset because he thinks Steve looks at him like he is his father. But then Tony time travels and meets Howard, but is introduced to people as his brother (Gregory, I think). Anyways, he meets Steve, falls in love, comes back to present time, and realizes that Steve stared at him because he looked like Gregory, not Howard. I hope someone knows what I am talking about. Thanks.
