I'll be moving upstate in a few days and would really appreciate some fic recs to dump on my ereader! I'm looking primarily for stories that are epic in length, 50k words at least. Most of my reading so far has been in the Thor/Loki part of the fandom, but I'm branching out to Loki/Tony a bit as well. Completed fics are preferred, but active WIP are very welcome as well!

I tend towards slash fics, but am open towards het pairings or OT3+ pairings as well. Slow buildup for romance is great, although fics that deal with already established relationships are also good. Lots of drama! High tension! But also some comedy or fluff to balance it out. (Pretty much anything by scifigirl47 for example. XD ) I like fics that can hit a range of tone but still come together coherently.

I am an absolute stupid sucker for the following: jotun!Loki, competant!Thor, Tony being a smartass, Clint living in vents, Pepper being awesome, Avengers family feels, Tony's robots, space pirates (I blame Bend Around the Wind for that), Norse mythology ala Asgard, mythology remixes, putting the "universe" in MCU, exploring Jotenheim, exploring Jotuns, intersex!Jotuns, Loki getting 'redeemed' but still being a snarky little morally gray bastard, arranged marriage, the Avengers going from a team to a family, Natasha keeping her cool while everyone else loses their shit, etc.

Death!fics and heavy angst fics I have to take on a case by case basis. I can get immense satisfaction out of fics that put me through the emotional wringer, but don't enjoy stuff that makes me feel like I'm getting punished for reading it.

tl;dr : Moving, need long fics, so what's your favorite pairing/trope and what would you call its must read epics?

(FLAG [Fanfiction Lightweight Automated Grabber) is pretty damned awesome for folks trying to download from fanfiction.net and a tidy handful of other websites! )

I have read a few stories where Odin, Thanos, or even Shield torture the snot out of Loki and the Avengers end up rescueing or rehabilating him. Any and all stories along with Loki!feels and lots of hurt/comfort would be greatly appreciated. Bonus points for slash or good!Loki :)

Does anyone know the name of an Avengers/ Buffy crossover fic that starts with Xander in the sqtuare in Stuttgart? He gets between Loki and the old man and tells Loki what he sees. Fury decides to conscript him and that's the last tbit I read. It was a WIP and the above all happens in the first chapter or so. I've tried TTH and the AO3 tags but haven't found it

Tony and Bruce help Steve not be manipulated by Fury & SHIELD...even more.

A few things I remember:

Fury gave Steve a number & address for Peggy that JARVIS found out to be fake.

Tony calls the number with a voice-modifier and gets the agent (Sharon Carter) to break cover by making her think she was talking to Fury.

They attack Steve's apartment so they could say he isn't safe and he should live within SHIELD's jurisdiction, but the plan backfires and/or Iron Man kind of ruins it.

Bruce and Steve take Tony to the hospital for temporary blindness/hearing or vertigo problems?

Steve, Tony, and Bruce play big parts. (Clint & Natasha also appeared in smaller roles? I don't think Thor was there?) It feels like it was pre-relationship for Tony/Steve.

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for fics in which Tony isn't as "happy" as he's portrayed in fics and the movies. As in, okay, everyone knows that he's not actually happy, and that he's had a really bad past, and he's broken in so many ways, just as badly as anyone else on the team. Just because he went through a different type of torture to Clint and Natasha doesn't mean it was any less devastating. But I think people on the team, and in SHIELD forget it because he's so lighthearted and "happy" all the time, and it's difficult to imagine him having a past even comparable to the rest of the Avengers, who are darker, and more somber.

I'm looking for fics in which something happens and Tony shows his anger, and his darkness. And I want the others to be surprised. I want him to be angry, and cold, and dark, and absolutely nothing like the Tony Stark we (they) know. And then the others realise that it's a mask, and a lie, and that they've been underestimating him all this while. And maybe Tony will realise that he's slipped and he'll pull his mask back on, or something.

Okay, maybe too specific, but I'm essentially looking for fics in which Tony is covering his darker nature and temperment and it slips one day, and the others realise they've been duped all this while.

Anyone? I really hope I'm not blathering on, but. Yeah. I'm good with most pairings but for these kinds of fics I love Tony/Loki.

I'm searching for a story I read, maybe here, maybe on AO3. AU where Loki was a member of the Avengers & each Avenger is assigned to a handler, 2-3 to an agent.

Fury assigns Clint from Coulson to a new handler. The new handler had been Loki's, who flipped out and left the Avengers without explaining why. Fury suspects the handler is the reason & figures Clint won't take any crap & they'll get the truth about the handler from him. They thought wrong. Clint allows the handler to physically & emotionally abuse him, due to a misunderstanding of the handler/asset guidebook.

Features Clint using the air ducts to sneak into Coulson's room to sleep on his couch, until he gets the new handler who punishes him for it. Loki eventually returns to warn Clint, then Phil & the team find out what's been happening & much badassery ensues on behalf of Loki & Clint by their team.

Can't remember if it ends with Clint/Coulson or if it's only implied. I think there may have been implied (strongly) Natasha/Fury, but nothing explicit.

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for fics which detail the absolute f*cking disaster NYC must have been, after the movie. Injured civillians, injured agents, soldiers, devastated infrastructure, devastated everything. Most fics mention it, but shoot straight past it. I don't think it would have been that easy.

Give me something that shows just how shocking the destruction would have been. Something that details the loss of life, and the overflowing hospitals, and the overworked doctors, and somehow there's nothing much the avengers can do. Maybe tony can help with tech, or donate money or space, but nothing hands on, and nothing anyone else can do. Something that details the rebuilding of life for the common person, you know?

I don't care what pairing but I'm good with anything, I'm good with gen.

I'm looking for a fic in which Tony has been treated unfairly/harshly (verbally) by Pepper and Rhodey, generally misunderstood, and has extremely low self-esteem as a result. Steve starts to get it and confronts Tony's old friends. I particularly remember a scene in which Rhodey arrives while the team are in the kitchen (?) and Steve dresses Rhodes down after witnessing how he talks to Tony; afterwards Rhodey goes to his guest room and has a chat with (a displeased) Jarvis, beginning to realize how he's screwed up.

I can't remember if there were any explicit pairings. Pepper and Tony's breakup may have figured?

I have no idea why I'm suddenly obsessing over this story, given that I didn't bookmark it at the time and it's been weeks since I read it. I'm 99.8% sure it is (or was!) on AO3 since I've barely glanced at any stories from anywhere else in this fandom. But now all of a sudden I am CRAVING it and I cannot for the life of me dig it up. I've tried every search on AO3 or via google site:search I could think of, to no avail. Hoping some fellow Tony-angst-lover might know. :)

I'm always amazed at this comm and how you respond perfectly! So I've come to you looking for something else.

I'm looking for a different sort of reveal fic. Not the inter-avengers reveal, because I think that one's pretty much taken for granted anyway. I'm talking about outside the Avengers. And not just the general public. Like, families.

I read this epic series in which Darcy Lewis has a family and none of them know what she does, until they do, and it is EPIC. (Basic Bitches by twistedingenue).

I'm looking for things like that. Where people who still have links to the outside world (of sanity), like Phil, or Darcy, or Jane, or even Hill, have reveals to their family that actually, they work with SHIELD and their basassery is shown and stuff. I don't even care if it's OC or what. I'm happy with any pairing, any rating, any central character. All is good.

I hope there's something out there!

Looking for a Cllint/Coulson mpreg fic. Where Clint had Coulson's daughter but the council took her from him and raised her, and theatened him with her if he didn't join S.H.E.I.L.D. and spy on them.

Someone help please! I so want to read this one again since I forgot to bookmark it. Also anthing along those lines would be awesome. Would love to see one were Clint was forced to work for the council.

I'm seriously craving some Good!Fury fics, that show Fury caring about Tony-no Tony/Fury slash please. I just need any fics where Fury acts in a caring way towards Tony. Like, he protects Tony, or knows/finds out about Howard's abusive behaviour, or comforts Tony in some way. I'd particularly love any fics where Fury-dare I say it- hugs/holds Tony.

1.) I remember reading a fic (or at least a prompt?) on avengerkink a while back - basically, it said that Thor and Loki don't actually have pseudo-human bodies, it's just the way we interpret them as a kind of physical/visual allspeak.

2.) Any and all fics with Jormungandr!Fury, Hel!Darcy, and Fenrir!Coulson.

3.) I hope a TASM/Spider-Man search is okay (I tried to look for a Spider-Man ficfinding comm, and couldn't find one, so this seemed the best place to go). Major TASM Spoiler, so search is behind the spoiler tag: Any fics where Captain Stacey lives?

Hi! I'm looking for a fic with the above titled name. This was being posted on AO3, but for some reason it's gone. It's an AU where Clint is a user/hooker, Natasha strips, Coulson owns a coffee shop but he's on the verge of bankruptcy, Steve is a struggling art user, Bruce is Natasha's quiet boyfriend, Tony is a troubled genius, Fury is a cop. Loki is Clint's pimp, Thor's a dj at a club known as the Hammer, Jane's his pregnant gf straight out of high school. Pairings are (future) Phil/Clint, (future) Steve/Tony and Bruce/Natasha, Thor/Jane (only mentioned so far).

It's a brilliantly written fic, so I'm really hoping someone knows where it's ended up.

Hoping someone knows this fic I'm searching for.

Posted on AO3.

Starts off with Tony being woken up by JARVIS because he has a meeting with Fury. However, Tony feels...off/sick/wrong.

He goes into the kitchen to get some coffee in hopes that caffeine withdrawal is the problem (It's not.). When he arrives, he notices how the team has become so comfortable with one another since moving into the Tower.

Tony picks up an iPad/tablet where an alert tells him why he's feeling like complete crap. He needs to replace the arc reactor. Without even thinking about it, he pulls it out to examine it. The team is shocked into silence. Tony realizes what he's down afterwards.

Turns out, something has been wearing the reactor down enough to cause Tony's symptoms. He's been so busy that he's been putting off repairs.

Team scrambles to help Tony since Bruce (?) says that without the reactor, Tony could go into cardiac arrest.

Other clues possible clues, or I'm just getting stories confused:
-might be something about Natasha wearing a My Little Pony t-shirt and not shaving her legs, but still looking deadly?
-Clint taking Tony's mug, Bruce offering his instead (green-SMASH written on it)?
-Bruce cooking and changing Tony's coffee to something less bitter?
-Steve reading a newspaper (one of the only non-technical things Tony has---something about being almost completely paperless?)?

This is driving me nuts because it's on the tip of my tongue!!

Hi all, I've been trying to find a fic, maybe two, I'm not sure anymore at this point, sorry. D:
I'm pretty sure it was posted on AO3, or at least one of them!
They both involved the Avengers, so it would post-Avengers, I believe.

The first snippet I remember is Steve eating with Loki in the tower I think, and Loki pushes him part of his plate or something, and Steve mentally comments that it was "behavior that one would see on someone with siblings".

The second bit is at the end of the fic, and Loki ends up broadcasting to the world that some kind of attack had been orchestrated by him, though it really wasn't, because he had been under the custody of the Avengers, and Fury yelling about Loki willingly being the scapegoat or something.

~~Again, I'm not sure if they were in the same piece of work, or if it was two seperate ones, but any help would be appreciated! Thank you very much!~~

I just saw Avengers for the 2nd time, and I realized that the final scene between Fury and Coulson had...slashy undertones, shall we say?

Is there ANY fic where a closer/deeper relationship between these characters exist? It doesn't have to be slash, I'll take anything!
