Hi,

Can anyone rec me any dark what-if AU stories where things go really wrong at the end of Avengers — like where they lose, or the Chitauri invasion isn't stopped, or Tony doesn't make it back to Earth, or ends up a prisoner of war, etc etc.

Tony-centric would be a bonus (as well as everything just generally going to Hell). The darker the better!

I can't think of any for the end of Avengers but there's an excellent one for the end of CATWS (so, HYDRA win) called As The Devil Fights (if I recall rightly) and features small!Steve (because HYDRA managed to reverse some of the effects of the serum, and they're bastards), some of the characters from Agents of SHIELD, Coulson coming back, and there's going to be more. The author hasn't updated in a while (they got mobbed by Ward fans for their depiction of Ward) and it is DARK, with gaslighting, rape, etc. but it is exceedingly well written and well worth a look.
