Avengers and (foreign) languages

I know there are many stories where Natasha and/or Bucky speak Russian, but I'm looking for fics where OTHER Avengers speak non-English language, not necessarily perfectly or fluently, but enough to understand and not be fascinated by this strange phenomenon of people speaking NOT-ENGLISH while gaping like idiots.

I mean, Cap could be speaking French coz Dernier was French/France was their biggest ally, a bit Japanese coz Morita was Japanese (hell, maybe swear words), German coz no self-respecting strategist is taking his team into a hostile territory w/o speaking the language of his enemies, maybe local languages like Greek/Hungarian/Austrian...

We have already seen Bruce speak Hindi in Avengers, but how about Swahili...I don't know any other African languages, but if he is trying to blend in "third world countries" he cannot act like an American tourist and not understand a word of the local languages.

Or Pepper/Tony, coz s/he is a fucking CEO of a Fortune 500 company, and how can s/he be sure their, say Chinese for eg, partners are not trying to rip them off (yes, there are interpreters, but they can be bought), especially in the aftermath of IM-1.

Or, idk, Thor/Loki who knows All-Speak, so he doesn't really care what Earth language you speak, his internal translator works just fine with any and all languages (current or ancient), for eg maybe Thor reading Hieroglyphics with ease coz all "Earth" script is same to him.

Basically, I'm looking for any good stories where Avengers speak or communicate in non-English languages.

P.S. NOT looking for non-English stories. Regular English stories where only the characters communicate in non-English languages.

PPS - Non-pairing Gen preferred. If pairings, NO Brucetasha. Also, original Avengers only. I don't really care for the new ones except Sam and Spidey. Definitely NO Wanda, Vision or Darcy

I have a ton of Avengers stories saved and I have run across mentions of Steve knowing some French or German and growing up know Gaelic. (One where he totally lose it when finding out that it was Hydra that had Bucky and cursing for minutes in Gaelic.) But these are only small mentions in a much larger story. I can search and find the stories for you in a day or two. Or are you looking for scenarios that are a much larger part of the point of the tale? Haven't run across any of those yet.

I am really interested in anything really, besides the Avengers knowing/speaking different languages. I was reading this Bruce/Tony fic where Helen Cho is treating Bruce for something and she started cursing in "her native tongue" and "it might as well have been ancient Greek for all Tony understood it". Kinda pissed me off.

As for Steve cursing in Gaelic (Joss Whedon's impact), I'd like the link if u have it...

I don't mind many pairings but Stony, Brucetasha and anything involving Darcy or Wanda is strict NO-NO

I know you said no pairings but I was wondering if this is something you would be interested in? Bucky speaks Russian about the things he likes about Tony/wants to do to him but doesn't realize that Tony knows Russian.

I HATE Brucetasha and Stony is a NOTP. Actually I'm pretty choosy about my Avenger ships, so erring on cautious side and 'no pairings'

Okay, here's one for you. There is a wonderful series of chapters/stories at fanfiction.net called A Very Good Team, written by Qweb. It's long, with 76 chapters of varying lengths so far. Chapter 55 is titled "Avengers' Tower of Babel." Steve is amazed to be listening to 3 different conversation going on at once: Natasha and Clint talking about a restaurant in Russian, Bruce talking to a South American friend, and Pepper (and Tony once he takes the phone from her) talking with a supplier in France. If you like the writer's work, just for fun, skip down to chapter 76, The Cellphone Plan, before starting at the first chapter. They run pretty much chronologically.

Thanks that Avengers fic is exactly what I was looking for... I'm not into Avenger fics atm (Civil War cemented my hatred for Cap, and m on a twilight kick) but I'll save it for future refs. Thanks for the rec :)

Most of these will probably be Tony!Centric, as he's my fave, and the only other hero I'm willing to read centric! fics on is Spidey sooo... Be prepared for pure Tony language-ness. :)

As said above, I have this OCD-kind of thing when it comes to Avengers-pairings, including very very specific top/bottom preferences etc. lmao. So, it's easier to err on side of caution and just say no-pairings instead of boring everyone.

But, Dom-ish Bruce/Tony and Dom-ish Bucky/Steve are my go-to pairings, so thanks for that :)
