Searching for Steve/Bucky fic on recovery (?)

Hi!

I spent a couple of days looking through FF and AO3 but I still couldn't remember the name of the fic so I hope someone can help again. (Sorry, I have really bad memory even if I like something).

The fic I'm looking for is mostly about Steve and Bucky, specifically, the Winter Soldier on the road to recovery (?). I don't remember if it was a pairing kind of fic. What little things I remember from that fic:
1. Winter Soldier was allowed to stay with Steve in a "safe" location away from people but there were S.H.I.E.L.D agents monitoring the place in case the Winter Soldier goes beyond the "allowable" perimeter.
2. One time when Bucky just went out of the house/cabin (but was within the allowed perimeter), he still got shot by an agent who held a grudge against him.

Sorry, I can't remember that many details but I hope someone can help? I know it can be vague. I'm trying to rack my brains for more details but I really don't remember much (again, bad memory).


Also, just so I won't be posting too much, I hope I can put everything here instead (for now).

Can you also suggest other fics that are similar to the themes of the fic I am searching for (see above)? I'd like to read similar themes wherein steve helps bucky recover or even when winter soldier helps steve. I'm a fan of angst (though hopefully with happy endings) fics and friendship fics but slash doesn't bother me as long as the plot is good. So if anyone can also suggest some fics with the theme I mentioned. Also, good babySteve fics?


Edit: I just realized that there's a story that I can't seem to access now so I'm not sure if it's the one I'm looking for (see first few scenes in story I'm searching for above). But anyone here familiar with "Till the end of the line remember?" It's in FF.net, forgot the author but i can't seem to access that fic now so not sure if that is the one i'm looking for. Does anyone know the author or have copy?

One of my favorite Steve-helps-Bucky-recover fics is These Days (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2326517/chapters/5124740) by themantlingdark. Bittersweet ending, be warned.

I know I've read other good ones, but I'd have to sort through my bookmarks and I don't have time right now. The one you're describing sounds familiar, but I think it might've been darker than I generally like? (Or maybe I just read a dark one with a couple similar plot points.)

And I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "babySteve," but if perchance it's something like "I want to see how Steve would have behaved as a kid," or even if that's not what you meant but it sounds interesting now that I've mentioned it, you must read Winter's Children (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2268795/chapters/4983954) by Neery. It features the Winter Soldier trying to wrangle half a dozen impressively well-characterized mini-Steves.

I'll read through the recommendations you made, thanks! :) Also, if you do manage to find the fic in your bookmarks(no hurries), would appreciate it. But yes, I think it was a bit dark.... (if memory serves me right). I think half the time, Bucky wasn't as responsive or totally himself yet in that fic.

reading through the fic you mentioned. I don't think this is the one but you are right in that I might like it. Haven't finished but i'm already liking what i've read so far. thank you. :D
