Stonyl AU, hurt!Tony, Insecure!Tony

Hey guys!

So, there are a lot of stories out there where Tony and Steve start dating, and then Tony's a jerk and they break up, angst, and eventually get back together after he gets his shit together. I want the opposite.

Any stories where they are dating and it's Steve who's the jerk and they break up and Steve has to win Tony back after a lot of hardship.

Also, any good Stony, Stuckony, or WinterIron stories with Steve and/or Bucky being jerks.

Here's the ones I found in my files right off the bat. All are found at Archive of our Own.

Only Fair and So Selfish are by somanyfeels. Steve's relationship with Tony is put on the back burner when a newly returned Bucks starts having trouble coping. Tony tries to be understanding, but it becomes too much for him.

Never Gonna Happen by Anne Higgins. Bucky is found the day before Steve and Tony are to be married. With all Steve's attention on his best friend, Tony knows it just ain't gonna happen.

Newborn by ilerre is a great one and at over 45,000 words is kind of long. When Steve and Tony suddenly break up everyone just know that Tony is at fault for hurting Steve and he is totally rejected; beaten, threatened, and kicked out of the Tower. This one has a lot of heart ache and angst and a good dose of physical trauma. And Bruce Wayne. Any more I'm not telling. Hope you enjoy these stories.

Not exactly what you're looking for but the series First Impressions and Second Chances by lilsmartass has Steve (and the other Avengers) being jerks to Tony. It does eventually become Stony in later parts, after Steve apologizes. Even if it's not what you're looking for I still recommend it if you haven't read it before.
