Steve/Bucky fic cop and stripper... but not really

Sorry if this is a bit vague, but I read a fairly lengthy story over on AO3 a while back where Steve is a cop trying to solve a series of murders and Bucky is a stripper, I think, who is also being coerced into prostitution (possibly the hold they have over him is a death he believed he had a hand in causing. Though I may be confusing my stories.) Either way, Bucky doesn't leave the club and has to service clients for the boss. I seem to recall that someone was messing with their memories, or maybe just Bucky's.

I think Bucky still had his cyborg arm. At one point Steve threatens someone who Bucky had been forced to go with, telling the man never to come back to the club, or to go near Bucky.

It ends fairly happily, with Steve and Bucky together. Though Bucky is understandably very messed up.

Nope, that's not it :( Though I see what you mean with Steve threatening a john - I may have muddled up my fics a bit, sorry.

Steve is investigating a series of murders or attacks (not sure if it's as a cop or as part of SHIELD) But Bucky performs in a club, where he is also expected to sleep with whoever the bosses tell him to, he's a 'favourite.' I recall Russian names as the bosses, rather than Pierce. Dimitri might be someone else who works there like Bucky. Bucky lives in the club basically, he's not officially allowed to leave.

I seem to recall that he might be doing something else - mind controlled? I have an idea it's all something of a charade and Bucky is understandably bitter about it when the truth comes out. He and Steve are together I think at the end, but with Bucky being as messed up as he is by what he's gone through for so long, I don't think they get intimate straight away.

Argh, it's driving me crazy that I can't find it.

Found it! After trawling through all the saved fic on my device. It's 'Guardian Angels Have Left Me Stranded' by Paraxdisepink.
