I'm searching for recs where Bucky isn't a wooby mess he seems to be in every single fic. I am NOT searching for anything here bucky's abusive or overly cruel but more for things in the vein of Like a Cruel Mistress Woos and the reciprocity series. Pairings are optional but I do prefer Steve/Bucky.

Hm, have you read This You Protect (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1752638/chapters/3745571)? It's an interesting look at Bucky's programming breaking down and him getting to know the modern world. He's not cruel or domineering in this story but... well, he's about as nice and kind as you would expect the Winter Soldier capable of.

omg I LOVE This You Protect. He's so cheerful! When he discovers the Captain America popsicle? "It's raspberry flavored. Apparently raspberries in the future are blue. Neat." and his love for coffee?? this is my favorite new fic, hands down.

Lol, I'm glad you liked it! He really is kinda cheery and accpeting of everything in it, isn't he? Except for Hydra that is. Yup, loved the coffee addiction - and his relationship with The Building. ;)
