Clint Barton/Hawkeye Focused Fic Recs

Hello. This is my first time posting here, so hopefully everything turns out alright. I am new to the Avengers fandom. I've always like Hakweye (aka Clint Barton), and enjoyed seeing him in the film.

I'm hoping that someone can rec me some good and long Clint Barton focused fics. I'd prefer gen right now, but slash is fine too. I'm very new, so rec anything--even well-known stories because I probably haven't read them yet! I'd like to read some with Clint interacting with the other Avengers, but if the fic is more pre-movie that's fine!

Just Another Guy With A Bow by myrmidryad - ao3.org/works/445791 - Clint's life is a steady progression from point A to point B, but it's everything that happens between those points that make the story interesting. Things like joining the circus, losing Barney, finding Barney, stumbling into SHIELD, trusting Coulson, making a different call when he's sent to kill the Black Widow, and becoming part of the dysfunctional Avengers team.

Coulson's gone, SHIELD isn't a home anymore, and no one on his new team seems to like him. After a lifetime of being ignored, Clint's gotten good at demanding attention. He'll annoy and frustrate and piss everyone off until they notice him. To him, any attention—even the negative kind—is good attention.
This poses a problem when they all finally learn to just ignore him.

Clint's formative years, his work with Trickshot, and his long history with SHIELD. The Avengers will be a thing, but their coming together diverges from the movie canon.

If you're in anyway interested in Clint/Natasha I suggest you check out be_compromised - we're friendly and don't bite. :P To help you with C/N recs, here is my blackhawk tag on diigo. Some will be more Natasha heavy, but it's pretty easy to tell which they are. One of the best C/N fics out there is We Were Emergencies by gyzym; It's not about being unmade; it's about remaking, one aching step at a time..

There's also the Vantage Point Universe by Aggie2011 which is heavy on Clint&Phil friendship with a side dose of C/N. And it is HUGE, so lots of reading there. And also Still Officially Lost by prollyrepeat. Hawkeye origin story. I think it's part of a series that goes on to be Clint/Phil but I don't read Clint/Phil so I've only got the beginning.

For AUs I adore no light in this valley by trysts, which is a western, in some ways. And fantastic.
