Hiya everyone!

Tis me again! I'm looking for something a little different this time. I'm looking for fics in which tony stark is actually asexual. Or demisexual. Or much more discerning in bed mates. I mean, I love that our tony is a brilliantly sex-positive character who's generally portrayed as highly liberal and fun loving, but I'm looking for stuff where that's all stuff he's expected to do.

I was thinking along the lines of him trying to enjoy sex because everyone else does and he's probably just doing it wrong, so he keeps trying until he finally gets it. Or, if he has to use his body for his business because that's how it works, end of story. Or something, anything?

Anything where the stories of Tony's sex drive and womanizing are not really true. Seriously. Anything. I don't mind fluff or romance but I'm looking for an asexual relationship.

I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for. It's a Tony/Clint story called Only Different in the Details (http://archiveofourown.org/works/567367) by LadyShadowphyre. Summary: It started slowly, which is why it took so long for anyone to catch on to the changed relationship. At the same time, it started very quickly, which is why no one could quite pin down when it was that Tony Stark and Clint Barton - strangers until that first battle together - had looked at each other and connected.

In this story, a lot of Tony's typical behaviors are for show, part of a mask he wears to hide his true self. For example, he doesn't drink; he has tea in a glass decanter that he pours into a whiskey glass so it looks like he's drinking. The same is true of his flirtatious behavior towards women. It's an act, not something he really intends to follow through on.

The stuff about his flirting is mentioned, but not the main focus of the story.

omg no don't say sorry! That's a great rec! I've read it before and it's good to have been reminded of it - I think some of my desires were actually based on this tony, so it's actually a pretty good interpretation of what I was looking for! Thank you! :D xx

Tony is a mutant in this one; but the media portrays him as a womanizer when he's not. But he uses the media to "shape" his image and let them think what they want. It's not finished though, but it is a really good read!
