I'm having a really tough time recently, both with family and with work, and I was wondering if you could recommend me fics in which Loki did what I desperately want to do, and just ran away. As in, from Asgard. He decided that he'd had more than enough of everyone's BS, and that he wasn't scared to get out of a place which was like poison to him. I don't care where he goes. I'm just looking for Loki being happier, anywhere else but Asgard. I don't even need him to have run away, even if he'd been kidnapped, or banned, or tried to kill himself off the rainbow bridge. Just, Loki, looking out for himself, and getting away. It's a bit of a vague request, but I'll take anything that even falls roughly within the description. Kinda like the Housemates 'Verse by Coneycat.

I'm partial to frostiron, but I'll generally take what I can get.

Anything at all? I'll take it? Pretty please and thank you in advance.

You could try What More Is There? (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7418507/) by AssessTheSituation, an on-going WIP which was updated the other day, and still as awesome as I remember it being when I first stumbled upon it; in it Loki is basically living a mostly magic free (he tries :) ) high-end life in New York and ends up in a relationship with Tony; set pre-Avengers and equally about Tony as it is about Loki it's not so much about Loki getting away as it is about him living a life without super-villainy and Asgard and everything related. So far. ;)

There's also a fic in which Loki moves to the US after the events of Thor, I think, and evetually SHIELD manages to recruit him because Earth villains are so plebeian or something like that; it's also a WIP and I haven't started reading it yet but it might also count as something you'd like? I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but Loki gets to develop healthy relationships and it is just really good!

Truthfully
Loki had every intention of wreaking havoc upon Midgard the moment his suicide attempt had failed, it was just too bad that Midgard ended up being so distracting. Who knew that such a primitive society would have such a novel concept as therapy?
