I can’t remember much of this one. In this the reason the mutants were so hated by so many is caused by an alien parasite that infects all humans but can’t infect mutants. When Tony got the arc reactor it killed or cleared him of the parasites. He was then told about the parasites by I think the x-men or it may have been some other mutant(he had to be told about them because no one who is infected knows about the parasites). He worked with them to create a way to remove the parasites.
