I was recently furloughed. So have a bit of free time. I was hoping some folks could recommend some fics where Loki was the preferred son. Does not have to bash Thor. I super appreciate any and all help. :)

Another different type of "liking" you may want to try is Odin's Son, Tyr's Son series (https://archiveofourown.org/series/403348) by PeaceHeather
Tyr steps in and removes Loki from the palace. He doesn't dislike Thor, but makes it plain that Loki is Tyr's main concern, and forces Thor to see how he is being selfish instead of showing real concern for his brother.

Description says:

This whole thing sprang from a prompt wherein someone saw Loki being mistreated, myth-style, and stepped in to stop it. That's Chapter 1 of the first story. Everything else in that story is the fallout from that moment. The rest of the series grew from there. It's mainly about Loki growing up in a home where he enjoys a completely different relationship to his father.
