LF MCU Tony Stark meets parallel Avengers

Hi,

I'm looking for a story where MCU (I think?) Tony meets "fandom" Avengers through a portal/alien device in the Tonys' workshops. I'm not sure if this story is gen or not, though I'm pretty sure it's a completed story.

Basically, a beat-down Tony Stark without any real support from his universe's Avengers talks through a device/portal with the Avengers in another universe who are very supportive and try to help him.

Most of their interactions are conversations, with the alternate Avengers excited to speak with MCU Tony. I vaguely remember a conversation about differences in the Tonys' lives. They warn each other about events that happened to one Tony and are supportive of MCU Tony when his life really starts to get to him. Sound familiar?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

*head desk* damn there are days it doesn't pay to crawl out of bed.... just lost the original version of the post to some sort of connection glitch... hmmm... maybe my attraction to a certain god of chaos is not helping?... sigh

Anyway - I recall reading a fic very similar to SailorChibi's fic - except I don't think there was any A|B|O in the story but Tony had either stumbled over a device (alien?) or accidentally created one that connected him with an alternate/multiverse version of his lab with that version of Tony Stark present. They communicate when they can comparing their universe and teammates, etc. Things go from bad to worse in this 'verse of Tony Stark and the Alt!Avengers on the other side of the connection encourage him to join them (I think something had happened to their Tony Stark - dead or very badly injured and out of commission). It was painfully obvious to everyone involved with the connection communications that this Tony was very shabbily treated by his team and the world in general. I think it ended with the lab being empty/deserted with the connection/device between the universes dead....

I can recall reading it but I'll be damned if I can recall the title or author.... I've been digging through my bookmarks and my browser history - but so far no joy.... I'll continue searching because at this point I want to reread it as well!... sigh
