Hi All,

I'm searching for a fic I'm pretty sure I read on AO3. It was team iron man and set after civil war. All I really remember was the team being sent out to a mission (I think on the SHIELD Bus) and having a breifing using the holograms where they explained about the instability of some of the buildings and came up with a plan so they didnt collapse and cause tonnes of damage. Then when they get out in the field Bucky get in trouble and Steve repeatedly orders Tony to let the buildings collapse and rescue Bucky instead. Tony ignores him and Steve gets mad about it. Also I think Steve has annoyed about being left out of the planning in favour of Rhodey. Sorry I know thats really vague!

I think you might have conflated two stories. Amber_and_Ash’s “Enough Rope” has them taking a repurposed SHIELD bus to a disaster site where there’s a building about to collapse, just no Bucky (see chapter 23): https://archiveofourown.org/works/9681983/chapters/26043729. I vaguely remember a similar situation that did have Bucky, but not the other details, but can’t remember that story. Hope this is at least some help...

Wasn't there a story where Rogers was not "in" on the main planning of a mission in China? (There was a Chinese advisor/consultant that was in on the planning.) Anyways Rogers had his orders - which highrises/ buildings to evacuate and help stabilize - while rest of the team including the Rogues and New Avengers had their assignments. Tony had a specific very unstable building to help stablize. Rogers was being flown in to his assignment by Wilson but he saw/heard civilians in another location and decided he knew better and had Wilson drop him off there. It left Tony in a precarious position and he stayed on station even as Rogers kept telling him he was coming. Tony ended up hurt, I think. A review of the mission pointed out Rogers' insubordination in not following prefers because he thought he knew better. If course Rogers complained he was left out of the planning (he was not in command of the team on the ground or overall). I think he was sent off planet to Asgard as an Ambassador? Unfortunately, I have not a clue as to the title but I am pretty certain it was on AO3.

Thanks.... Sorry about my confusion. Chapter 23 definitely mentions a SHIELD bus but no Bucky in danger. I've definitely read this before and it was a collapsing building and Bucky was involved. I think it was either an A/B/O or a dom/sub universe, but Steve used The Voice (or something like it) on Tony to get him to drop the building and save Bucky. He resisted because of some sort of defense he'd engineered for himself. It's going to come to me!
