Team Cap/Civil War

Hi everyone,

I just watched Captain America:Civil War and I am 100% team Cap. I tried to read fiction about this movie but most of it is Cap Bashing or Tony Stark sympathizer. what I am looking for is fiction about Captain America in that time frame without bashing, and with it focusing on him. I like to read stories about how he is good and trying to save everyone. maybe he sacrifices himself and hand himself to Ross to save his friends. I wish to read about how Tony Stark finds out that he was wrong and Cap was wronged. how the ACCORDS were not good and he should have listened to Cap. its fantasies that I have and wish to read. my only fear is that I am alone in this fantasy and no one sees it this way. as much angst as possible for Cap is better. I read Gen but prefer Tony/Steve pairing. I don't like Bucky/Steve pairing but if its all I get then its OK.


pleeeeeease help me and say there are stories like this.

I'd love to see more fics like that as well. Especially ones where someone calls Tony out on bringing a teenager into a battle.

If you want that have you looked up Gibbs_Yeah on AO3? They have a whole series about pointing out the ways Tony hecked up without being bashy. It's a really nice counter to the raging toxicity.

I have a rec for Tony realizing the problem with bringing a teenager to battle. https://archiveofourown.org/works/11788011/chapters/26583405 (Consequences by Jocelyn). This is really a redemption story for Tony (the author stated she really liked Tony but hated how he acted in Civil War/Homecoming). No one is 100% right, but Steve and his group are "more right" ;-)

I write mostly Maximoff-centric stuff but if you want more Cap/Team Cap centric stuff have you checked out Gibbs_yeah on AO3? They have this whole series about the ways that Tony hecked up while ALSO being fair and non-bashy. It's not a whole fic so much as two fics full of ficlets but it's a nice thing if you want something to balance out the raging toxicity of fandom at present.

I'm trying to think if there's any other fics I can think of but sadly I'm firmly in the Maximoff corner of fandom so anything I have to suggest is usually Wanda-centric. Maybe ask tiredoftonkies on tumblr? They and theirs usually have some good balanced recs for Accords fallout fics and things to consider.

You are very much not alone and there is a fair amount out there - I haven't been keeping track but the diligent Gibbs_yeah (already mentioned above) has done a list of pro-Team Cap fic on Dreamwidth here (https://gibbs-yeah.dreamwidth.org/340.html).

I'm not sure which on the list I've read (bad with titles), so I can't rec any of those in particular or say what pairings there are but there are a lot so hopefully you will find something to enjoy!

One I can rec is Getting the Super-Secret Boyband Back Together (https://archiveofourown.org/works/6770776/chapters/15475408), summary: "Nobody splits up Natasha's family. Not even the people in that family. Yeah, she's having none of this." (It is Steve/Bucky/Tony, unfortunately the rest of post-CW fics I have bookmarked are all Steve/Bucky.)
