Steve's fake 40's room deliberately botched

If you look at the scene where Steve wakes up in that 1940's movie set room, there's a LOT wrong with it, not just the "radio."  The woman's hair, bra, and tie are all wrong, Steve's fully dressed, he's not under the covers, he's got SHOES on for cryin' out loud...

So, are there any stories in which either:
A) whoever was in charge of staging Steve's awakening botched it on purpose, or
B) Steve keeps running?

Or both?

I am reading Captain Brooklyn: Beat Cop, in which Steve keeps running.

While I've definitely read stories where the Avengers speculated that Coulson purposefuly messed up the 1940s room, it was never a major plot point in any of them. However A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Oblivion (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2271921/chapters/4991661) is a great story where Steve keeps running.
