Rec Request, Bottom!Steve fics

I'm just really craving some bottom!Steve fics.

My preferred pairings are Tony/Steve, Tony/Pepper/Steve, Clint/Steve, Peggy/Steve or Sam/Steve, but I can't think of any Steve pairing I wouldn't read.

The hardest part, though, is in the details, isn't it?

While I think it's awesome for fans of certain popular pairings that they're so popular that they even end up in the background of everything else, it's really hard to work around some of them in this particular search. So I'd really like to know if anyone has any recs that don't also include Thor/Loki, Natasha/Pepper, Tony/Bruce, or Clint/Coulson (unless it's Clint/Natasha/Coulson) anywhere in the fic. Especially Thor/Loki or Clint/Coulson.

Any level of sexual content is acceptable, from none at all to explicit. Any length. Any overall genre.

I love that Steve is able to lead everyone on the field, but I just really like Steve being a bit more submissive/uncertain/etc to his romantic/sexual partner off the field. (no, uh... crap, I don't know the right terms for everything, but no watersports, scat, or any similar kinks)

(also, I'm not sure I tagged this as well as I could have. I wasn't sure what all actually applied and most of what I'd actually use isn't in the list.)

I like all Steve pairings. I have gone through a lot of fics on Ao3. It's been a while since I looked through that particular tag, but mostly I remember how hard it was to find anything Tony/Steve MCU that didn't also have Clint/Coulson or Thor/Loki popping up in the background and getting frustrated. (also, I'm not so good with technology and my ability to search for things is... clumsy at best.)

I know I found some real gems, but apparently I didn't bookmark them.

It's all good - canon-verse, AU, time paradox, crossovers, MCU, less so some of the comics just because I loathed the Civil War and House of M arcs... (and Ultimate Steve. :-/ )

Edit: Try Omega!Steve also. I found some real gems there.

My preferred pairings are Steve/Bucky and Tony/Bruce, but I'm not a fan of any of the other pairings you mentioned either. And I've read lots of great fics.

Also, Clint/Coulson might be a bit hard to ignore because it's EVERYWHERE! Lmao!!

And when I say clumsy, I mean that ... well... I only know how to use the Ao3 tagging system by finding a fic that has the tag in it and clicking it from there. which means going through pages of Steve fics to try to find the right tag since he's not usually the bottom or omega. *pout*

Yeaaahhh... >_< It's one of those pairings that makes my brain hurt in bad ways and even when you think you've found something free of it, ten chapters in it pops up all of a sudden and I'm like ;_; whhhyyyy??????

I don't mind Tony/Bruce (not like the other pairings mentioned) I just tend to prefer Tony either with Pepper, Steve, or both.

You know, the best way to navigate AO3, is when you click a tag or a pairing, they'll take you to the fic-index page. On the right hand side, there's the tick-box menu called 'Sort-and-Filter'.

You can select or deselect your preferences. Or the best thing is go to the very bottom of the thing, you'll find windows for 'other tags' and 'search w.in results' type your pref in the box, you'll get a scroll down menu, select and press enter. Repeat it for however many tags you want.

And instead of looking individually, you can also go to 'Steve' page, 'Ctrl+F' on your keyboard, you'll get a little window, type 'omega steve' or 'bottom steve', if there's any fic with that particular tag in it, it'll show you directly, you don't have to check each summary individually.

Also, I get what you mean with the unwanted pairings. It basically destroys the whole fic for you, no matter how good it was or how much you were into it.

Exactly! My friends always tell me "It's just a background pairing, why can't you just ignore it?" and it's like... How am I supposed to ignore something that dropkicks me right out of the story?

That's why I always root for tagging all the pairings in a fic no matter how minor even though it pisses some people off. It's like, I'm sorry, but I'd like to be warned before I'm going to have my entire night ruined, thanks.

I know right? I randomly clicked on it, I was gonna dismiss it at first, but it's so fucking BEAUTIFUL!

Most of my stony fics are bottom!Steve with a dash of bottom Tony once in a while. You can find them on Ao3 under winterstar. From General to explicit from long to short. Hope you like (and don't mind self rec'd). Also for any side pairings. I keep it completely in the background and not anything important to the story.

Out of curiosity, with the side pairings, are they marked? Because some people mark all pairings regardless of how minor or major and some people don't mark anything except the main pairing.

I'd have to say sometimes...and that is just because the side pairings are so inconsequential I usually don't tag them. My stories focus only on Stony and most definitely focus on bottom!Steve with a touch of switching places. I almost never tag bottom Steve though - and that's just because I hate tagging every little thing about the story. Hope you might chance some of them...my favorites are Upon Waking (which is AU), The Captain and His Courtesan (another AU) and Haywired.

Sorry about that. ^^;; When I say "similar kinks" I mean any kink that involves body waste or relies heavily on bodily fluids in general. Sweat and semen happen during sex and that's fine, but if they're the point - like the tendency in werewolf fic to rub semen into their partner's skin - that's not. (for me, obv everyone should read/write what they want)

I have been known to freak the F* out if someone else's bodily fluids splash on me. That ick factor isn't as severe in writing, but it still grosses me out enough to throw me out of the fic.

Light BDSM is perfectly acceptable and I kind of expected a lot of recs would be when I couldn't think of a better term than 'submissive' to explain what I was looking for.

Lol, I sort of figured, but you can never really be sure, because a lot of people lump all the 'heavier' (more involved?) BDSM stuff into one category.

The unsure/inexperienced Steve troupe is a favourite of mine so I might have more recs for you if you want, if you're more interested in the inexperienced part of it rather than the sexually submissive part (as in you're more interested in the ballance of power aspect between experienced/unexperienced rather than the top/bottom).

The balance of power is absolutely the most important part to me.

And yeaaahhh... I admit that I frequently just lump all sex things into the category of 'smut' and then ignore it. I don't know most specific terms and what I do know is splash back from the fact that my sis has a laundry list of kinks that she rants about (apparently they're usually badly done or something?) and I've learned under extremely dubious consent. ^_^
