Found: Tony builds Steve a sparring robot (still looking for fic recs)

Im pretty sure the story was on ao3 and focused on the build-up relationship between Tony and Steve. At some point they get into a fight about Tony buying expensive gifts or spending money on Steve and Tony points out that the robot he built cost more than anything else he was given.

And that is one of my favorite series. I was reading it when I thought about the sparring robot then could remember the name. Any other fics with Tony building awesome stuff?

Oh, off the top of my head there's a comicverse fic: 'Roughest Day' series by elspethdixon & seanchai where Tony makes Steve a new motorcycle.

Finding them is the hard part because they dont tag for Tony creating stuff, just him treating his current creations like his children aka Dummy lol

So this is based on my sometimes-faulty memory, but here's some things that I could remember from my rec list...

Coming Home (http://archiveofourown.org/works/434870) which has Tony participating in "fool Cap about the era" and takes place at a rehab hospital where Tony's designed prosthetics. I believe it's a war veteran hospital.

Pretty sure scifigrl47's The Act of Creation Will Be Your Salvation (http://archiveofourown.org/series/18990) series has plenty of creations, most of her stories do.

As it says on the tin, 5 Gadgets Tony Invented for SHIELD (+1 he didn't) (http://archiveofourown.org/works/449547)

His Fate Will Be Unlearned (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1055361) by scifigrl47 has - amongst other things - a mini-Dummy that Tony makes for Steve.
