Jarvis - Does this fic exist?

I had a really awesome dream a few nights ago. This idea was only a small part of the 'story' and I wonder if I picked it up from skimming fic summaries since I don't read Tony fics.

Takes place pre-Iron Man.
Jarvis is a real person that Tony was having a secret relationship with. He tragically dies, which is what leads to Tony naming his AI J.A.R.V.I.S. all those years later.

Anything like this?

I'm not sure if such a fic exists, but it's pretty much a comic canon that Howard Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis, who basically raised Tony, was the inspiration behind J.A.R.V.I.S the AI. And there was a post few days back where someone was searching for Tony/JARVIS (AI) machine-kink fics. Maybe you're confusing the two.

I did a little poking around and found mentions of the butler after I posted. So I guess what I am looking for is an AU.

Maybe. I don't read much Tony fics either, unless it's Tony/Bruce and that too very rarely, so I wouldn't know either way :(

I always thought Jarvis (the human version) was Marvel's answer to Batman's Alfred. So, for me, Tony/JARVIS is as inconceivable as Batman/Alfred, haha.

Not just comic canon; it's now MCU canon too. (Unless you want to make the claim that there were multiple humans named Jarvis who made lasting impressions on Tony's life.) Anyway, MCU Edwin Jarvis is fantastic and you should watch "Agent Carter" if you haven't already. :-)
